Mark Donohue Javelin SST 1970 Stored in Trailer for over 20 years rescued unloaded forklifted
This is a video capturing the unloading of a 1970 Mark Donohue Javelin SST that was stored in a trailer for over 20 years. I was a little scared filming this as I did not want to be posting a video of the destruction of a 1970 Mark Donohue Javelin SST, personally I would have cut the roof off the trailer and taken the car out with a helicopter, not to worry though as there were 2 guys inside the trailer ready to catch the car if it fell or tipped over ...but alas, as risky as it was, a success!!!! 2 other cars were stored in the trailer as well, a super low mile Gremlin and I think it was a 1979 AMX, but this was the treasure we were digging for!!!!!! On the spoiler you will notice "401", this was originally a 390 and if I remember right it is a Big Bad Orange, Orange or Green, it was not a bad re-paint but the inside of the door jam reveals the original color, a nice find!!! The car is in fantastic condition! This was not accomplished on the first attempt, a few mis-fires happened but it all was okay in the end!

1971 AMC Javelin AMX
I thought you'd like a look at this very nice 1971 AMC Javelin AMX. It's powered by a 360 V8 with an aluminum intake and 4 bbl carb. The exterior has been repainted and it features the flat black T style striping on the hood. The interior is mostly original and features a nice set of gauges. It's a nice looking car and something I don't come across very often. I hope you find it interesting...thanks for watching! Filmed at Country Classic Cars in Staunton IL http://www.facebook.com/RamblinAroundonYouTube http://ramblinaroundonyoutube.wordpress.com/ https://twitter.com/#!/RamblinAround The background music track is Whiskey on the Mississippi by Kevin MacLeod. The Unfortunate History of the AMC Pacer
Behind all the jokes and insults, the AMC Pacer is actually a car with a great deal of history. It began as radical new design from an underdog company. In an attempt to combat the big, bland, boxy cars from Detroit's "Big Three," little American Motors Corporation decided to build something a little different. Their one-eyed car stylist Dick Teague proposed a small, wide car with big windows and smooth areodynamics. Americans had never seen anything like it. This in-depth documentary tells the true story of the Pacer. Unbeknownst to many, the car persevered through manufacturing setbacks, government regulations, and many other troubles. Featuring a ton of old car advertisements and rare footage of AMC's factory, the film helps paint a picture of the Pacer's world. Director Joe Ligo sits down with AMC stylist Vincent Geraci, author Patrick Foster, and television personalities John Davis and Pat Goss from PBS's MotorWeek.

1969 amc javelin sst restoration
This is a project that has taken me, my brothers, and my dad about 8 years. The paint is a pearl blue flame by ford, its a 360ci amc motor bored approx 0.30 over, the rims are cragar 5 spokes. If you have any questions just ask. It used to run at union grove back in the day. I will continue to add new videos as they are available. Note* i do not claim ownership of this music side note: no the car is all metal now theres less than a quart of bondo used on the whole car, i didnt get pics of fabrication due to a broken camera. It doesnt show us fabricating a trunk, the front fenders , the troughs, the rear quarter panels were a 3 piece, the floor pans, or random holes weve patched. to give you an idea of the work theres more than 1000 hours in body work alone.

Trans Am Paddock '66-'72 Sights & Sounds
Happy July 4th! If you have speakers plugged into your computer, turn it up. Hopefully you have a subwoofer, too! This footage is me walking through Vic Edelbrock's collection of vintage Trans-Am racecars as they're being prepared for the Group 7A races and enjoying the sights and sounds... The Trans-Am Series is an automobile racing series which was created in 1966 by Sports Car Club of America (SCCA). This was the proving ground for all American manufacturers to compete with race-modified production cars. It ran until 1972 when at the height of Richard Nixon's incompetence dealing with OPEC, we had a gas shortage which was compounded by an embargo levied against us. Syria, Egypt and Tunisia didn't really like Nixon re-feuling their arch-enemy, Israel. Rather than address the shortage, the auto industry was heavily regulated to curb consumption. Further restrictions placed on the oil industry by an other rocket surgeon, Jimmy Carter, left us unable to further develop our own oil supplies which cemented these changes to the auto industry. These events changed muscle cars as we knew them into complete turds for over a decade while US auto makers struggled with the regulations and re-learned how to produce decent cars again... but for the "pony cars", it was the beginning of the end. The oil embargo of 1973 changed the shape of not only the auto industry, but all forms of auto racing to follow. You used to be able to afford these cars. I remember when... back when I was in high school... But it's 2010 now. This race celebrates all the classic cars you've dreamed of owning or being seen in. These things auction in the 6+ figures now (because of their race history). Enjoy this parade of '60's and early '70's model Ford Mustangs, Chevrolet Camaros, Plymouth Barracudas, Mercury Cougars, AMC Javelins, Pontiac Firebirds, and Dodge Challengers. This event required that they be in their original race condition in order to run with the Group 7A cars, so the contest to follow is all about how much compression these 40+ year old cars have left, and who's driving it. These beauties have been meticulously preserved by the best collectors, engineers and mechanics in the industry. I hope you guys can appreciate it because this is off my normal subject material. I just wanted to change things up and post something American on Independence day. This one's for the Veterans.

AMC Javelin Update and a 401 Build
Going to give the old 401 a proper rebuild.

AMC Javelin

The Javelin was restyled for 1971 and like the Mustang of the period, became bigger in most every dimension. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----Today the AMC Javein is fast gaining a following for being unique and and as a muscle car for those who dare to be different. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----AMC was purchased by Chrysler Corporation in 1987 in order to acquire the Jeep brand, which AMC had owned since 1970. With the purchase by Chrysler, AMC became the last independent and thsu ended a long history dating back to 1902. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----- AMC will live on in the cars that remain and which are cherised by those who dare to break away from the pack.
