During his one-day visit, the automobile enthusiast was not only able to acquaint himself with the new SLS AMG Roadster and the SLS AMG E-CELL during test drives, but also hand-assembled an AMG V8 engine.

In the midst of developing a new "Speedy Beetle" tuning program for the all-new 2012 Volkswagen Beetle, ABT Sportsline has released these preview renders.
As the largest tuner of Volkswagen Group vehicles, ABT plans to upgrade all engine variants in the range. Starting with the 1.2 TSI the standard 105 PS (77 kW / 103 bhp) will be increased to around 140 PS (103 kW / 138 bhp), while the 1.4 TSI (standard: 160 PS/118 kW/157 bhp) will have around 210 PS (154 kW / 207 bhp). The top of the range 2.0-liter turbo VW offers with 200 PS (147 kW / 197 bhp) will receive approximately 230/240 PS (176 kW /236 bhp). For the diesel Speedles the 1.6 litre goes from 105 PS (77 kW / 103 bhp) to 125 PS (92 kW / 123 bhp), and the 2.0 TDI will have 170 PS (125 kW / 167 bhp) versus the standard 140 PS (103 kW / 138 bhp).
Naturally, a comprehensive styling package will be offered as well. ABT will give the Speedle a new front spoiler, a rear skirt insert, rear skirt set with rear muffler and oval Exhaust pipes, and side skirts. Decorative trimmings include front and rear headlight brows plus the adhesive graphics kit. For the final touch ABT Performance lowering springs give way to ABT DR wheels in inch size.

The Volkswagen Beetle is a stylish hatchback that mixes modern mechanical parts with a look inspired by the big-selling original from the sixties. It's only offered as a three-door model and comes in standard, Design and top-spec Sport trims. There are two petrol engines available -- a 1.2-litre turbo and a 1.4-litre with turbo and Supercharger. The Beetle shares its mechanical components with the Volkswagen Golf hatchback, but has a more flamboyant look.

Con este proyecto, que da continuidad al modelo New Beetle lanzado en 1997, se estima que se conservan dos mil empleos en Volkswagen, así como el refuerzo en la participación de empresas proveedoras nacionales de autopartes y servicios.

For all those who look at a Porsche 911 and see a gussied-up Volkswagen Beetle, wait'll you get a load of this.
The Volkswagen gurus at enthusiast website VWvortex were given early access to the new 2012 Beetle, and this is what they came up with: a visual makeover of the new bug that draws its inspiration from the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, complete with bright orange 20-inch alloys on low-profile Continental rubber and a matching stripe with the words Beetle RS carved out, just like on the Porsche. The look is further enhanced by blacked-out chrome and badges coated in a 3M brushed-titanium wrap.
Behind those wheels are 14" brake discs from Brembo, but that's about the extent of the mechanical upgrades for the moment. VWvortex is apparently waiting for the car to actually hit the production line before it starts tweaking the engine, after which it plans extensive mods such as a turbocharger upgrade, new Exhaust and even a locking diff, along with a GT3 RS-style rear wing to cap it all off.
