Cobra Engine Build Part 1
This will be the first in a series on the engine build for my Cobra. This is a 351W bored 0.030" with a 408 stroker crank. The intake was converted to fuel injection and featured in a previous video. I will list components as much as I can.
408 Stroker comes to life!
my 89 foxbody Mustang gt comes back to life from its 351w that got bored .030 over and stroked to a 408. Here are a list of the mods:
AFR Racing heads (225CC intake) - $2400
Edlebrock rpm performer air gap intake - $came w/ 351w
Comp Cam (dont know duration and lift yet) $278
Scat 408 kit (crank rods and pistons) - $1900
Quick Fuel Systems Carb $650
cobra clutch and adjustable clutch cable (both quadrant adjusts and cable by the fork) - came with car
Ford racing valve covers
Ford racing air filter and cover (not in video)
high torque starter
Tremec 3550 for over 600hp 600ftlb tranny (engine Dynoed at 535hp 555 ft lb tq)
Full custom crossmember in front with tubular suspension
3.73 gears full spool with moroso rear end cover 31 spline axles with c clip eliminators
Mickey thompson E/T drag radials in rear
Big Tach and other gauges
Line lock
If I forgot anything I will post, The engine total was around $9400 with labor from the machine shop (included Dyno time, break in oil and such).

BLP - 2008 Pontiac G8 L76 404 Stroker Walkaround Idling 4 Cylinders
This Pontiac G8 was equipped from the factory with DOD (Displacement On Demand), which enables the vehicle to be run on 4, 6 or 8 cylinders, depending on vehicle load and power demands, in order to conserve fuel. We did not require this feature anymore and removed it during the build. The last step for removing DOD is turning the DOD off in the factory ECU. We were curious what this monster would sound like idling on half of it's cylinders with a lopey cam, so we hooked up the deleted DOD plate and left the DOD on in the ECU. Needless to say, it still sounds mean and likely would outrun a factory G8 using only 4 cylinders!
