[Who's Yamano?] Yamano is one of the top drivers in Japan. He's won 3 championships in Super GT GT300 class - 3 years in a row, in 3 different teams, and 3 different cars (NSX, MR-S, RX-7). That's why when Subaru first came to race in Super GT in 2007, Yamano was picked as their driver. It hadn't been easy though - RWD modded Impreza, nor 4WD Subaru Legacy had too many natural disadvantages. But having struggled for 5 years with Subaru, Yamano (and Subaru) had surely developed a race car that could win. In 2012, Yamano as a BRZ GT300 driver owes a huge responsibility and pressure to win the race. And as well as the race car, he's also purchased a BRZ for himself to compete in All Japan Gymkhana Championship this year. There is no doubt he is the Mr. BRZ. On the day this video was shot, unfortunately all the official drivers of this car were busy at other race events. So what they did was take out the team director and have him drive. A small bumpy parking lot in Daiba, Tokyo was the course. The amazing thing was that, this car was quite sticky to the ground all the time, and even performed to drift a little. Perhaps this is what the Nur race track is like. Although it requires an expert to drive like this, the WRX has a really good handling - especially this S206. Like me on Facebook - http://www.facebook.com/jtphotos2 At the end of May I got a call from the Subaru dealership telling me my 2013 BRZ Limited had arrived and was ready for me to take delivery. After a grueling 1,000 mile break-in period I was looking forward to see what the car was capable of. I shipped the car to the autobahn to do some high speed runs in the car and attempt the top speed. The car is limited by its aerodynamics unfortunately so I had to get a good stretch which favored the car which allowed me to get up to 147 MPH. This isn't very high speed compared to other exotic cars but for a 200HP Subaru I was very impressed seeing what it's capable of on the top speed spectrum! Find out here! http://vid.io/xqoF The Scion FR-S, Subaru BRZ and Toyota 86 are all essentially the same car and together they are probably one of the most misunderstood sports cars sold in America. Misunderstood you ask? Why yes. Many assume that the sexy coupé is rocket ship fast. It's not. Many assume the svelte 2-door grips the road like it has claws. It doesn't. Many have heard rumours that it wears Toyota Prius tires. It kinda-sorta does. What most people don't know however is that these traits combine to create one of the purest, most enjoyable and certainly most affordable rear wheel drive sports cars in America. In the same tradition as a classic lightweight English sports car, the 2+2 Scion FR-S' raison d'être isn't to eat Ford Mustangs for breakfast, it's mission is to be the best balanced track car. And it succeeds. The 200HP and 151 lb-ft of torque are unquestionably low for our modern era where even a Camry cranks out more power, but the power is perfectly balanced to the car's weight AND grip. The low-rolling resistance tires allow the FR-S to get just the right amount of tail-happy on a small track and the manual transmission is perfectly suited to an autocross style event. Sure, putting the FR-S on a larger track like Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca reveals the FR-S is out-gunned by plenty of rivals, but doing so also misses the point. I like to think of the Scion/Toyota/Subaru as baby's first track car, the kind of car you can use to hone your driving skills before moving up to a more-powerful, faster and deadlier vehicle. The key to loving this low-slung 2+2 is to understand what it is, and most importantly: what it isn't.

And we learned earlier this season that a bolt-on turbo kit will add to the FRS's performance without taking away from it's character.
