1971 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Engine Start
First time starting up the 2333 cc engine (91x84mm) that I installed in my wife's freshly restored 1971 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia convertible. Yes, I know my coil is installed upside-down. The after-market wire harness was installed with too little slack to reach a downward-pointing coil. This is temporary.

Starting The Phantom Ghia prostock VW
First fire up after engine assembly. The Phantom Ghia is a 9 second 1/4 mile, 1958 VW Karmann Ghia door slammer. Built by Robert Cook or Cooker's V-Dubs in Clear Spring, Maryland and owned and driven by Rob Schultz. ****UPDATE**** this car now resides in France under new ownership.

John Surtees former Formular 1 and Motor cycle World Champion and Norman Dewis former Jaguar test driver talk about their experiences with the E Type (XKE) sports car on the 50th Anniversary of the iconic car launch. John Surtees bought one of the very first E Types and Norman was the principal test driver for the car. The event took place at the Design Museum by Tower Bridge in London
Karmann-Ghia anniversary 50 years 1955-2005
On the 14th of July 1955 the Volkswagen Karmann Ghia was presented to the public. Members of the media and business were invited to the Kasino in Georgsmarienhütte, which is close to the Karmann factory in Osnabrück.
50 years on, Karmann Ghia friends around the world are invited to take part in these jubilee celebrations at the historical location, invited by the big Karmann Ghia clubs of Germany with the support of numerous sponsors and helpers. Georgsmarienhütte is situated a few kilometres south of Osnabrück in northern Germany.
