Torana SS @ Bathurst Motor Festival 2013
After 11 months with no engine, the Torana made a return to the track at
Mount Panorama, Bathurst for the Bathurst Motor Festival. It ran without
fault thanks to LW Parry Engineering, Hercules Engines, CRD, Miller
Chassis, Tyrepower Campbelltown and Macri Motors Race Preparation and
Restorations. As you'll see in the video it ran an unofficial time of 2min
31.6 secs from Forest Elbow to Forest Elbow. It did unfortunately break the
2min 40 secs minimum lap time at the official control line rendering the
session with no official times on Natsoft. Just noticed the data is out of
sync with the video towards the end. Doh.
A short vid of our budget build Torana over a period of four years .The
front had an accident prior to the purchase. The front was unpicked
restraightened rewelded on with the front rail straightened as well. The
engine bay and car were painted in acrylic,The engine in the car was given
the flick as there was was rust in the bores, a running 253 was
purchased, given a hone rering new gaskets mild cam and runs perfect The
paint job was the first time i have ever painted a car and came out not to
bad The dates on the head camera are wrong take no notice of them, Hope you
enjoy the vid
BEST BURNOUT EVER! SUMMERNATS GUINNESS WORLD RECORD BURNOUT!
Summernats 26 broke a Guinness World Record for the most amount of cars in
simultaneous burnout on January 4, 2013 in Canberra, Australia. When the
massive blanket of smoke eventually cleared, Chris Sheedy from Guinness
World Records told the 10,000 plus crowd that exactly 69 cars had managed
to complete a 30 second burnout. Sixty nine. That's a 'Nats kind of number.
Drivers came from all across Australia to fry their tyres together in this
historic event, some traveling thousands of kilometres from Western
Australian and Northern Queensland to take part in the rare feat.
138 tyres x 30 seconds x over 35,000 horsepower = 1 world record.
Thank you to the drivers, staff and sponsors for making this incredible
