2007 Ford Mustang Shelby GT vs. 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX STI
Look no further than the hood scoops on the 2008 Subaru Impreza WRX STI and
2007 Ford Shelby GT to find the fundamental difference in their
personalities. It's here that both cars' sense of purpose and ability is
displayed prominently and publicly as a statement of their true character.
Fast & Furious 4: Subaru WRX STi
MORE FAST & FURIOUS @ INSIDELINE.COM:
What's a Fast and Furious movie without some obvious product placement? And
in Fast & Furious, the most obvious product placement is Subaru's WRX STI.
The Subie got its role in F&F when the picture car coordinator went looking
for a new, high-performance, rally-type car for FBI agent Brian O'Connor
(super-dreamy Paul Walker) to drive near the film's climax. Basically it
was a choice between the Mitsubishi Evo X and the WRX STI, and Subaru was
the first one to say it would supply cars. So Subaru it was.
Subaru gave a total of seven brand-new WRX STI models to the production in
exchange for prominent placement in the film. But just because they were
zero-mile cars doesn't mean that they were treated with any respect by the
picture car department. After all, what matters in movie-making is getting
the movie made, not making sure any Subaru survives unscratched.
So all the Subies had their interiors stripped, all were fitted with
straightforward tuner-style modifications from Perrin, Cobb Tuning and
Veilside, and then they were sent out to work on the set. Of the seven, one
was cut up into an engine-less filming buck and five were destroyed during
filming. The remaining car is in a warehouse awaiting another shot at fame.
DC SHOES: KEN BLOCK'S TRAX STI CAR
On the heels of Ken Blocks insane Gymkhana videos and the groundbreaking
snowboarding/rally part to close out DCs MTN.LAB 1.5 video, the DC
Co-Founder and Rally Team Driver has joined with Subaru to make the worlds
fastest cat track operation automobile for backcountry access for
snowboarding. Dubbed the TRAX STI, this is a new teaser video from the test
session for the highly-modified, snow-ready (to say the least) car.

DC SHOES: GYMKHANA 2.1, BLOCK vs DYRDEK
As seen on MTVs Rob Dyrdeks Fantasy Factory, Gymkhana 2.1 takes the epic
cinematography and driving from DC Co-Founder and Rally Team Member Ken
Block that youve come to expect from the Gymkhana videos and mixes in Rob
Dyrdek in his comical and somewhat powerful miniature version of Blocks
rally car. The two, who have worked together and been good friends since
Dyrdek joined the DC skate team in 1995, decided to get the shifter car
built and film the clip when Dyrdek made an appearance in the Gymkhana TWO
video earlier this year. A custom mold was made to build the shifter car
nearly identical to Kens Subaru WRX STI (except for the head-out-the-roof
part). The team at Vermont SportsCar wrapped the shifter in the same
graphics as Blocks competition rally car, and a custom fireproof, FIA
certified driving suit just like Blocks was even made for Dyrdek. The
Gymkhana 2.1 video features all the near run-overs, drifting, racing and
shenanigans that occur when two unique individuals like Dyrdek and Block
hit the tarmac in polar-opposite-sized whips. For more photos and info on
