Wheel Lip Mouldings On A Budget - 1967-1968 Mercury Cougar
For Cougars, trim pieces can be very expensive. The wheel lip mouldings are
not reproduced for 67-68 Cougars, so your only options are to have your
originals restored, which is very costly (over $400 for a set of 4) or find
NOS trim, which is also very expensive and they are almost impossible to
The good news is, there is another option! We've found that the
reproduction 1971-73 Mustang wheel lip mouldings can be
easily modified to fit a 67-68 Cougar. While the fit isn't perfect and the
profile is a little different, these mouldings only cost about $120 for 4
and look great once installed. Or, if you send us your original core trim,
we'll give you these for free.
Using two right rears and two left rears, the only modifications you need
to do are 1) drill new holes in your wheel arch and 2) trim the rear
mouldings to fit. Watch the video and you'll see it's really quite easy,
and the result looks great considering the low cost.
