The existing Satria Neo bodyshell is extensively modified to accept the
S2000 components including the 4 wheel drive system. It is then
strengthened considerably to comply with FIA regulations by fitting a
safety roll cage using 35 metres of ChroMo Steel Tube.
The engine is based on the Waja 1.8 engine with racing internals and
increasing the capacity to 1998cc NA, which is positioned transversely and
producing a power output of 278bhp (280hp) at 7600 rpm.redline 8500 rpm.
The transmission is a 4-wheel drive system specifically developed by Xtrac
for S2000, using a 6 speed sequential gearbox with 3 plated limited slip
differentials, and handbrake release system.
The Brake callipers are Alcon 4 piston calipers front and rear. The front
discs are 350mm for the tarmac version and 300mm for the gravel version.
The rear discs are identical for both specifications.
Featuring the GEMS integral engine ECU and power management system with
data logging and glass dash display.
The suspension is MacPherson strut and wishbone design by MEM using
Dynamics dampers. Anti Roll bars front and rear.
Fitted with 8 x 18 inch alloy wheels for tarmac and 6.5 X 15 inch alloy
wheels for gravel
1150 Kg for the tarmac version and 1200 Kg for the gravel version

FIRST DRIVE: PROTON Satria Neo R3 Lotus Racing
There was a torrential downpour the evening that Ignition.my had the
opportunity to test drive the recently launched Proton Satria Neo R3 Lotus
Racing. Launched in conjunction with Lotus' return to Formula 1 this year,
it really is a very special and very limited edition of only 25 cars. It's
a brilliant car, what a performance Proton Satria Neo should be: good
spread of power and strong acceleration, fun handling and strong brakes,
and aggressive race-refugee styling.
My new baby! The Satria Neo CPS R3
The standard Satria Neo wasn't really much of a looker to be honest. But
when Proton finally introduced the CPS (mini little V-tec system) to the
Cam-Pro powered Satria Neo, it finally caught my eye. I dreamt about the
car for a whole 3 years. Till one day in the end of 2012, Proton had
announced the last batch of Satria Neo CPS but this time in the R3 package.
3 years of waiting finally worth.
Till now, I never regretted in getting the car.
