Kawasaki Quarter Mile King 1979
Video is from the International Drag Bike Association (IDBA) World Finals
in 1979. Features Sid Pogue, Terry Vance, Vickie Farr and more.
This is one segment from the restored video player “ Kawasaki Good Times
Theatre”. The Good Times Theatre video players were used at Kawasaki
dealerships in the 1970’s for customer viewing on the showrooms.
This restored video features great Kawasaki moments from the mid to late
1970’s. Audio quality on the restored video is fair, but clearly
understandable. This is a great piece of Motorcycle History. Hope you enjoy
ATV Plowing 3 Feet of Snow: Kawasaki Prairie 400
I noticed there are a lot of videos of people plowing 2 inches of snow...
So I just had to contribute. Fast forward to 4:10 if you're impatient.
2001 Kawasaki Prairie 400 (KVF400-C3)
14,000 miles. 2,750 hours.
Front tires are Swamp Lite, hope to get some for the back soon.
Yes, the front posi is wore out.
Warn Provantage 50" plow.
Cheapie winch with homemade behind-the-bumper mount.
The location: Golden Gate Canyon area near Black Hawk, Colorado. Elevation
Date: February 3, 2012.
It had a hard time pushing the snow straight but when I got to a point
where I could tilt the plow, get up some speed, and push the snow to the
side it had no trouble. With this amount of snow over a large area I first
clear out some space on one side so I can move around and then I make two
complete sweeps over the area. In the first sweep my rows go from the
outside edge into the middle row with the plow tilted to the outside
(counter-intuitive but it works). The second sweep goes the expected
direction, from the middle row to the outer edges with the plow still
tilted outward. Using this method you don't have to stop or reverse once
you get in the groove. Unfortunately the camera battery ran out before I
could get that far, but you get the idea.
