1972 Mercury Cougar XR7 Convertible
http://www.motoexotica.com/inventory/6008/1972_Mercury__Cougar.htm • Beautiful Blue & White Convertible! • Incredible Two Tone Interior! • 351ci V8! • Automatic Transmission! Mercury Cougar is the name applied to a diverse series of automobiles sold by the Mercury division of Ford Motor Company from 1967 to 2002. As was common with Mercury vehicles, the Cougar shared basic platforms with Ford models. Originally, this was the Mustang, later the Thunderbird, and the last a version of the Contour. The Cougar was important to Mercury's image for many years, and advertising often identified its dealers as being "at the sign of the cat." Female models holding big cats on leashes were used on Cougar ads in the early 1970s. MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to offer the handsome 1972 Mercury Cougar XR7 Convertible. The '72 Cougar XR-7 you see today is said to be a 93,931 original mile car that is finished in the original color combination of Bright Blue Metallic with White/Blue interior. The paint looks very good and shows no major spots of imperfections, just a few minor spots of touch up. The power white convertible top is equally as nice with no staining, rips or tears to the vinyl. The rear window is glass. Inside, the White/ Blue vinyl interior is the original for the car and in great condition. The carpet appears to have been replaced recently and is in great condition. The dash, door panels, arm rest and wood grain trim are all equally as nice with on major wear showing. Under the hood, the 351 cubic inch V8 runs great and starts with a turn of the key. The motor is said to be the original for the car and still retains its original 2 barrel carburetor, power steering, power disc brakes and air conditioning. The air conditioning is currently inoperable but it appears to only be in need of a charge. The engine is nicely detailed and very original. No damage to be found. The motor is connected to the three speed automatic transmission which shifts smoothly and performs with no problems. Under the car is very solid with no rot that we have seen. It appears to be all original metal under this original southern car. The VIN is 2F94H517485 and the mileage currently shows 93,931, which is believed to be original for the car. It is being sold on a clean and clear title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!

1972 Mercury Cougar XR7 Convertible 351 Cleveland V8
I thought you might like a look at this 1972 Mercury Cougar XR7 Convertible. It is a very well-preserved original survivor, with only 88,xxx miles on the odometer. It's powered by the numbers matching 351 Cleveland 2 BBL V8, backed by a C6 automatic trans. All the power is sent back to the extremely durable 9 inch rear. The interior is all original and is in very good condition. It really is in remarkable condition, given it's age. I hope you find it interesting, thanks for taking a look! SOLD 1950 Mercury Coupe Hot Rod for sale by Corvette Mike Anaheim California 92807
1950 Mercury Custom Coupe Candy Apple Red w/White interior. If you get a bunch of gearheads in a room together and they get to talking about what the ultimate hot rod is, inevitably there will be three constants on the list; the '32 Ford Hi Boy Roadster, the '32 Ford 3 window coupe and the subject of this ad; the iconic '50 Merc coupe. The quintessential lead sled; the Merc defined the full bodied hot rod in the '50's. Its flowing lines were a vast canvas on which customizers could practice what was a fairly new art form back in the late '40's, early 50's. Chopped, channeled, frenched and decked. That's what you did if you wanted your Merc to stand out in a crowd! And the sled being offered here does that in spades! Designed to emulate customs made famous by legends like Sam and George Barris, Gene Winfield and many others, this rolling piece of art has all of the elements mentioned above, in addition to being wrapped in stunning Candy Apple Red paint, white tuck and roll interior with a multi-carb'd Flathead under the hood! Held in a vast private collection consisting of only the finest custom automobiles, the work was done by Steve's Auto Restorations using elements of Chevrolet, Pontiac, Cadillac, Olds & Kaiser. The hardtop body has no "B" pillar, the headlights have been "Frenched", hood corners have been rounded and of course it wouldn't be a '50's custom without Appleton spots! The interior features white "Tuck and Roll", laminated plastic knobs and a '57 Olds steering wheel, power steering, a hidden audio system and solenoid operated doors, windows and trunk The business end features a full dress Motorhead City 1950 Flathead engine featuring an Offenhauser intake and heads and three Stromberg '97 carbs. House of Color supplied the Candy Apple over Gold exterior and "Von Dutch" style pinstriping. Wides whites with full Cadillac wheel covers completes the deal! It's an investment grade custom that spells upside in it's fortunate new owners future. It was good enough for James Dean! Stk #N/A

Dash Removal & Restoration - '68 Cougar XR-7
In this video, we show (in great detail) how to remove and disassemble the entire dash and gauge cluster in a 1968 Mercury Cougar XR-7. This also applies very closely to the 1967 XR-7, and much of the info is relevant to standard Cougars as well. Once everything is removed from the car, we strip the plastic dash panels down to their bare bones so they can be sent in to be "rechromed" - stand by for updates on our restoration service, coming soon! Then we show some of the simple, inexpensive things you can do to improve the appearance of your dash, like replacing the blue light filters, installing new gauge overlay decals, polishing the lenses, covering faded woodgrain with our vinyl kit, etc. Finally, you'll see it all back in the car, and what a transformation it is! Most of the parts used in this video can be found here: http://www2.cougarpartscatalog.com/dashparts.html Or, use the part numbers provided in the video to search our site (see upper right corner "Type part number search here...") Also, if anyone out there knows of a vinyl woodgrain pattern that more closely matches the original XR-7 dash pieces, we want to hear about it! Our current pattern looks great but of course isn't "correct" for 67-68.
