2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8 Test Drive & Luxury Muscle Car Video Review
http://www.autobytel.com/chrysler/300/2012/srt8-rwd/ The Chrysler 300 is a
great American luxury sedan with room for 5 passengers that looks good and
drives even better. Well the SRT8 version is a tricked out muscle car that
delivers tons of power and performance. SRT stands for Street Racing Team
and this division of Chrysler takes a normal car and turn up the heat. Base
price on the 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8 is $47,670.
The 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8 is all about power with its giant 6.4 liter HEMI
V-8 engine lurking under the hood. This luxury sports sedan produces an
huge 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft. of
torque. That translates into a 0-60 MPH time of less than 5 seconds! The
transmission is a 5-speed automatic and the 300 SRT8 comes standard with
both traction and stability control in an effort to keep all that power on
the road. Fuel economy is not so great at 14 MPG in the city and 23 MPG on
On the outside the huge chrome 20-inch wheels with Brembo brakes lurking
behind are the first top-off that this 300 SRT8 is something special. Up
front the blacked out grille and the LED headlights give this luxury sport
sedan an aggressive look. The interior of the 2012 Chrysler SRT8 is a
combination of both sport and luxury. The gauges glow with a sexy blue
backlighting and the 8.4 inch touch screen display that is integrated into
the center stack looks amazing. Integrated into the touch screen navigation
is a trick SRT performance screen that lots you track various performance
figures like 0-60, g-forces, or it can display up to 3 custom performance
Bottom line on the 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8 is that if you have round $50k
and want a nice vehicle with tons of power that can seat 5 passengers
comfortably then this car is right for you. The SRT8 is the next step in
the evolution of the American muscle car.

LOUD: Chrysler 300C SRT8 'AMG': Revving and Accelerating! 1080p HD!
This awesome Chrysler 300C has - as you can see and hear - a couple of AMG
parts! The owner has a very good taste in my opinion, unfortunately the
hoodscoop is a little ricey, but the rest of the custom parts look epic!
The video contains a little less colour apart from real life.. I wanted to
do something different, haha! Let me know what you think of the 300C SRT8
AMG! Feel free to leave a comment and thumb up! Subscribe for more awesome
car footage! (Maybe this 'story' will be continued, because the owner
offered me a ride in his 2003 Viper Convertible ACR lookalike!)
2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8 on the road
The success of the modern Chrysler 300 launched in 2005 can be attributed
to its broad appeal. People of all ages, incomes and lifestyles were
attracted to the sedan's dramatic styling, power and performance.
As the king of the E-segment lineup, the 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8® adds
high-performance hardware to the elegant proportions and head turning
design to provide the ultimate combination of world-class luxury, power and
handling. With 470 horsepower (351 kW) and 470
(637 N•m) lb.-ft. of torque, the 300 SRT8 is targeted at customers that
seek heart pounding, adrenaline filled excitement, but don't want to
sacrifice comfort and innovative features to get it.
Under the hood of the 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8, the new 6.4-liter HEMI® V-8
makes its debut in the Chrysler brand product lineup delivering 470 horsepower (351 kW) and
470 (637 N•m) lb.-ft. of torque, up 45 horsepower and 50 lb.-ft.
over the 6.1-liter HEMI V-8 it replaces.
The improved torque output -- including an additional 80 lb.-ft. at 2,900
rpm -- allows for inspired standing starts and improved straight-line
performance while new, performance-tuned motor mounts improve idle
stability and ride control at any speed. An active intake manifold and
high-lift camshaft with cam phasing provides maximum low-end torque while
optimizing high-end power.
Even with the elevated power numbers, an estimated 25-percent fuel economy
increase on the highway is achieved by use of a new-for-2012 active valve
Exhaust system that allows the
standard Fuel Saver Technology (four-cylinder mode) to engage over a wider
rpm range. The new active Exhaust
system also allows for straight-through mid and rear mufflers for a throaty
Exhaust note under engine load.
The proven five-speed automatic transmission features new, standard
steering wheel mounted paddle shifters that join the center console mounted
Auto Stick, allowing for a choice of spirited shifting on both the road and
the race track. Both methods give the driver the ability to manually select
specific gears on the transmission.
In "Drive," the transmission controller will automatically shift the
vehicle. The aggressiveness of the shifting is defined by the mode chosen
-- either "Normal" or "Sport". Fully adaptive electronic control of all
shifting makes the powertrain more responsive while minimizing harshness.
In "Manual," the shift method is defined by the driver choosing to use
either paddle shift or Auto Stick. The "Sport" mode adds a hold function to
the calibration in all gears, allowing the driver full control of the
2011 CHRYSLER 300c AWD REVIEW plus WRITTEN REVIEW
Here it is boys - my video review of the 2011 CHRYSLER 300.
First thing's first. All of my disappointments with the exterior are
SQUASHED. I LOVE THE CAR.
If you don't think it's aggressive enough, buy aftermarket spoiler mods. As
far as I'm concerned Chrysler got a perfect 5/5 with this car.
The ride was definitely smooth, but there was a little bit of jittering -
which didn't feel too much unlike my SRT8's ride. Power delivery is smooth
My only disappointment is that although all 300's come with a massive 8.5"
touch screen, only the HEMI's get standard Navigation functions.
Navigation is supposed to be a $650 option, but, I don't believe it's
optional on the very base V6. However, one of the cars I drove had the
radio pulled out and I noticed it takes just three wires to connect a
different radio. It's possible that you can swap radios. I hope you can.
Other than that - the 2012 SRT8 is going to be my next car.
