first start up 460 turbo blow thru turbo sleeper maverick 91mm grabber 73 big block c6
this is the first time it has been started with the turbo it did good it is a totally stock 74 truck 460 only mods are ported exh. side of the heads and a .500 lift summit cam and arp rod bolts it has a 2 barrel on it just to start it , it will soon have a 800 holley , just to help some of you guys out the manifolds will not work upside down the ports are offset between the bolts i will have to make headers soon for it to perform

Josh Dillon's turbo big block Maverick
making a pass at Brainerd Optimist Drag Strip in Ringgold, Georgia. Car has
a 460ci big block Ford with stock crank, H beam rods, forged pistons, stock
head castings and valve size, blow through carb, Borg Warner S475 turbo. This pass is on 18 pounds on 93 octane pump
gas with a safe tune. Track conditions were poor as you can tell by the
squirrelly ride. I think this pass was a 7.0X at around 100 miles per hour.
Other details about the car: C6 transmission, Dacco torque converter (way
too loose), 3.00 gear, stock 8 inch rear end, stock axles, mini spool,
26x8.5-15 tires, original leaf springs, stock shocks, slapper bars.

this is my best pass to date it is on 12 psi Boost 2800 rpm footbrake 2 step launch
shifting around 5500 i think 12 psi in tires 36 degrees total timing
pulling .8 per psi so 26.4 under Boost runing 50/50 miv 93 octane and 110 for
safety but it doesn't need it at that Boost level i was trying to turn it up to 20
psi is why i put race gas in it . it is a stock ported head 74 model 460
with stock valves , block, crank, rocker arms, main caps, . it has a 950
carb shop blow tru carburator , torker 2 intake, .503 lift 276/286 duration
hydraulic flat cam , 2500 stall dacco converter , all stock hard parts c6,
jeep cherokee drive shaft , stock 8 inch with stock 300 gear stock axles 28
spline and $15 mini spool , running 26x8 inch slicks on steel wheels
Turbo Maverick Sleeper Outruns Drag Car
Josh Dillon's '73 Maverick Grabber doesn't look like it should run mid 6's
in the eighth mile, but it does! And outruns lots of full on drag cars.
Josh has driven this car on several road trips, and constantly beats on it.
The car looks rough, and even sounds sort of rough, but has a 75mm turbo that makes all the difference. On this
pass, the car made 12 pounds of Boost and runs a 6.62 at 105 miles per hour in
the eighth mile. The rough exterior and stock steel wheels make this
Maverick a killer sleeper!
The car has a 460ci big block Ford with stock block and stock crank. The
heads are stock castings that Josh ported at home. turbo is a Borg Warner S475, and Josh built every
piece of the turbo setup on a budget.
Transmission is a C6 automatic with stock hard parts and a Dacco torque
converter. Rear end is still the stock 8-inch!!!!
