Rally Crashes happened in 2012 and 2013 . Car accidents because of drifts .
The production-based cars with 1.6 L direct injection turbo engine and four-wheel drive are built to
World Rally Car regulations for racing across tarmac, gravel and snow. The
power output is limited to around 300 bhp (225 kW). Current cars in the
championship include the Citroën DS3 WRC, Ford Fiesta RS WRC and Mini WRC.
The WRC was formerly held for Group A and Group B rallycars. However, due
to the increasing power, lack of reliability and a series of fatal
accidents on the 1986 season, Group B was permanently banned. Later, in
1997, the Group A cars evolved into the WRC car spec, to ease the
development of new cars and bring new makes to the competition. In 2011,
new rules were introduced to encourage more manufacturers (and privateers)
to take part, because the recent economic downturn had prompted several
manufacturers to leave the championship.
Cars in the Production Car World Rally Championship are limited to
production-based cars homologated under Group N rules. Cars in the Super
2000 World Rally Championship are homologated under Super 2000 rules. Most
cars in the Junior World Rally Championship are homologated under Super
1600 rules, but Group N and selected Group A cars can also contest the
Starting in 2013,a new category of rally cars known as Group R were
introdued as a replacement to the Group A and Group N rally categories,
with cars classified under one of six categories based on their engine
capacity and type, wheelbase, and drivetrain. As a result no cars will be
homologated under Group A and Group N regulations and instead will be
reclassified under Group R. Parallel to this, the Super 2000 and Production
Car World Championships were restructured; Super 2000 and Group N cars were
merged into a single championship known as World Rally Championship-2
alongside R4 and R5 cars, whilst the Production Car World Championship was
completely reimagined as the World Rally Championship-3 for two-wheel drive
cars complying with R1, R2 and R3 regulations.
WRC Teams and Drivers
20 different manufacturers have won a World Rally Championship event,
and a further ten have finished on the podium.
Suzuki and Subaru pulled out of the WRC at the end of the 2008
championship, both citing the economic downturn then affecting the
automotive industry for their withdrawal. Mini and Ford both pulled out of
the WRC at the end of the 2012 championship, due to a similar economic
downturn affecting the European market.
A typical WRC team will consist of about 40 people on the events, with a
further 60--100 at the team base.
Manufacturers and manufacturer-backed teams usually have two or three
drivers participating in each rally who are eligible to score points. The
total number of crews (driver and his co-driver) in the rallies varied from
47 (Monte Carlo and Mexico) to 108 (Great Britain) during the 2007
In 2012, The Ford World Rally Team and The Mini WRC Team both announced
their departure from the World Rally Championships for the 2013 season.
Volkswagen and Hyundai will make their return to the championship in 2013

Capri RS 2600 Cosworth V6 dyno crash

Partial throttle runs for fuel mapping. Dyno was set to sweep
1000-7000rpm in 18 seconds. Limiter at 6450rpm. Crash at 5400rpm most
likely due bad conrod bearing.
Highlights of season 2013:
2.2 Ford SOHC pinto Engine with open pipes - Mk1/Mk2 RS2000 Escort/Cortina Kitcar
2.2ltr ford sohc 'pinto' engine
offset ground crank, diesel rods, cologne v6 cast alloy pistons, teflon
buttons, Burton power rings, stainless steel one-piece inlet & ex., valves
(44.5 & 38mm respectively - wasted stems and inlet seat further narrowed).
Epoxy resin used to improve shape of inlet port - 'Apple port' as per David
Vizzard book specs.
2x Twin 45mm Dellorto DHLAs with (If I remember correctly) 38mm Chokes.
Infact, the specs I followed are available in Des Hammill's book 'How To
Power Tune Ford SOHC 'PINTO' Engines. He gives several examples of motors
including 2-3 set-ups for Pinto engines including 2100cc which is the one I
used. It got the results you see above.
Cylinder Head work has been elaborate and very time consuming (Valve guides
have been ground flush with the roof on both inlet and Exhaust ports).
Exhaust ports enlarged throughout. -
Both in. & ex. throts have neen 'throated' and then blended in upstream
with the rest of the port.
Heavy duty bearings all around including camshaft.
Standard ford factory camshaft & springs used during this video.
Standard points type distributor etc etc..
Mechanical Compression approx 10.8:1 (I used 100octane shell V-power
petrol for my runs).
Standard flywheel had all the available mass machined off to give the
lightest possible unit whilst retaining the most of the strength. It has
five steel dowel + 6x ARP bolts fastening it to the crank.
Crank was machined at halesowen engines (Don't think they do it anymore as
old man retired) then heat treated at laystall crankshafts in Wolverhampton
(different trading name now I think) and also polished at laystall
Diesel rods have seen some machining to get them to fit the crankshaft
(Rods are thicker and longer + a little hevier when standard).
Rods fitted with ARP YB cosworth rod bolts (No nuts).
I spent the best part of 7 years building this engine.
It has been a financial disaster and I would not do it again.
Saying that however, the value of building and running the engine
successfully will most likely reveal itself as the years go by.

HT's Aaron Tucker and Vulcan Engineering's Steve Curson. The engine went on

Oldtimer GP 2012 auf dem Nürburgring. Peter Zakowski fährt das Original
Meisterschaftsauto von 1981, mit dem Klaus Ludwig damals gewann.
Das Fahrzeug ist mit dem kleinen Motor der Division 2 bestückt mit 1,4l
In beiden Rennen sah Zakowski die Zielflagge wegen technischer Probleme
nicht. Im Rennen 1 bedrängt er Oliver Mathai im Porsche 935 und im Rennen
2 räumt er binnen kürzester Zeit das Feld von hinten auf.
Sowohl nach dem Training als auch nach dem ersten Rennen wurde am Fahrzeug
umfangreich gearbeitet. Der Ladedruck ist noch nicht eingestellt und
deshalb hat P.Zakowski die Hand häufiger mal am "Dampfrad".
Vom turbo Capri wurden insgesamt fünf
Fahrzeuge gebaut. Ein Fahrzeug wurde zerstört, eines zu einem Mustang umgebaut, ein Fahrzeug wurde
von Herbert Stenger bei Bergrennen eingesetzt, ein Fahrzeug baut Stefan
Mücke in Berlin wieder auf und hier eben das 1981er Meisterschaftsauto bei
onboard race1 at 05:35
