1992 Honda Accord Timing Belt/Water Pump Replacement Highlights
Some of the steps taken to replace a timing belt and water pump on a 1992 Honda Accord. This isn't a step by step procedure, but the video shows most of the steps involved to do this job. Refer to the service manual for all of the steps, and follow all proper safety precautions!

Changing your timing belt early can save you thousands!
Waiting until a timing belt breaks can mean the difference between a few hundred dollars to replace the belt, and a few thousand to repair your engine. David Rogers, the Monday Morning Mechanic, shows what can happen when you don't replace your timing belt, and shows you how you can save yourself some money by performing other maintenance at the same time!

Since I had this RL in my shop that had a check engine light AND an ABS light I thought it was a perfect opportunity to put this video together. I get asked all the time about my 'special tool' and it's really nothing more than a Honda 2 pin connector with the input wires soldered together. These connectors might be harder to find than you think but if you run across a junk honda and one of these is on the harness grab it. Even if you don't have the tool a paper clip or piece of wire will do the exact same thing so don't sweat it if you don't have the tool because shorting the connector is all you need to do. I hope you find this video helpful. How to Remove the Crank Shaft Pulley Bolt on a Honda Accord
I broke my 180lb torque wrench trying to get this off!! Here is how we got it off. As you see in the video we put a 6 foot pipe (from our car jack) on the end on our breaker bar. I bent that thing down to the FLOOR almost six times until we got that bolt off! I heated the bolt with a blow torch in between my attempts. Upon inspection it looks like the idiot that I bought the car from was super anal and put Lock Tight on the bolt!!!

1994 Honda Accord w/ Bent Valve
A video illustrating how your 94 Accord's engine will probably sound if it has a bent valve. Bent valves often happen in cars containing intereference engines, such as this particular model of Honda. They occur most often when the timing belt breaks during operation of the engine. This is an expensive repair, requiring the engine head to be dismanted. To avert this disaster, change your timing belt every 90k miles or sooner. This particular car had about 178k miles on it at the time of the video. There was a bent valve in cylinder 2, and the cylinder lost all compression.

Accord EX - Identify this problem!!
This is my 97 Accord EX. It has the F22b1 motor, with about 158,000 miles on it. It runs great and gets decent mileage, except for one thing. It always takes 3 tries to start it. **SOMETIMES** it will fire right up on the first try, but what you see in this vid is what usually happens. NOBODY seems to know what is causing this. I've had numerous mechanics look at it, and they are all stumped. Here is a short list of parts I've replaced: 1. Spark plugs (NGK's) 2. Spark plug wires (NGK's) 3. Distributor cap 4. Distributor rotor 5. Ignition coil 6. Ignition control module 7. Ignition switch 8. Fuel filter 9. Air filter 10. Oxygen sensor 11. Main EFI Relay And even (to those who know what this is) a BG Induction Service, and a coolant flush and replacement. I regularly change the oil, and keep up with the preventative maintenance on this car. What the hell could this be? I'm running out of parts to replace chasing this elusive problem! PS: Check engine light was on for 2 things. Random/multiple cylinder misfire and rear oxygen sensor heater circuit malfunction.
