More Problems With the 2000 Saab 9-3 (Smoking, Test Drive, etc.)
Well many of you have seen all the other videos on this car and seen that
we replaced the turbo in it a little
while ago. After sitting for an extended period and battling to get it
started with a dead battery, when I took it for a drive it started smoking,
more and more. Today, 1 day later after I drove it, we started it up and
no smoke was to be found. Weird, we'll have to check it out more to make
sure everything is right with it. but like I said, today, everything was
totally fine so idk if the oil/gas mixture got screwed up or something from
sitting so long with little to no gas in it (had to fill it up before the
drive) or what. We shall see I guess! Let me know what you guys think!
2000 Saab 9-3 2.0 Turbo Start Up, Engine, and Full Tour
In this video I give a full in depth review and tour on a 2000 Saab 9-3
hatchback. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and
exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and
noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine,
start it up, and give a short drive and the details of it. A through
review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation
of the vehicle.
2000 Saab 9-3 Hatchback 2.0T First Test Drive
Well I'm pretty behind on my videos, I still have lamborghini videos to
upload as well as some more auction videos (I'm also going back
tomorrow!!), updated lot vehicles (including a tour on this car) and the
night starts for the lot PHEW! But I figured I'd jump ahead and give you
all a test drive of our new Saab we just got for old times sakes. It's a
long test drive video but I just love this car, one of the nicest we've had
in a while, not often you come across a gem like this with 106k on the odo.
This 9-3 has the 2.0T 4cyl engine (same as the one in my first car, the 97
900SE convertible. Wait till you see the full tour video!!
Replaced the Turbo in the 2000 Saab 9-3 Hatchback (Start Up, First Drive, Before/After)
Well I finally am getting the video up on the 2000 Saab 9-3 that I featured
a while ago with an engine malfunction. Turns out that it was a bad turbo. we replaced it and gave it a good
service and now it runs like new. no it didn't take this long to fix, it's
been done for a while, just waiting for the people to come and get it if
they come get it haha, plus I've been at school so not a lot of chances to
go home to video it. If not we'll just detail it and give our warranty
with it like the first time and make someone else happy with it! :)
~ 700hp Turbo Saab, 312kmh (194mph)
Extreme turbo Saab + 300 kmh
Many viewers have misunderstood this video, so I explain it a little:
-Speed at finish line (1mile/1609m) is measured. Time is not measured.
-First Saab does 1st and 2nd gear with ~half throttle. Second Saab has
limited Boost for 1st and 2nd gear.
- three extra seconds between 0-100kmh typically means ~30meters wasted.
But three extra seconds used in speeds close to 300kmh, means almost
Here is equally powerful RWD cars (if not even more HP's) These RWD's are a
lot faster between 0-150kmh, but
these Saabs are faster from
150kmh-300kmh. You get the point when you compare speeds at finish line.
-A Saab 9-5 driver pushes a little too much throttle @3rd gear and looses
traction. He lifts a throttle and pushes it back, but too much again and
then he gears up 4th, a bit earlier than planned. (optimal is@205kmh).
Earlier that summer I broke one gearbox when pushing too hard on 3rd gear.
With new gearbox and at later event, I drove very gently on first three
gears to avoid breaking it again. I pushed WOT for the first time on 4th
gear @ 190kmh. You can hear it clearly on following video. Engine tone
changes totally around 200kmh. Incar video is from 299kmh pull (at 1 mile
race) Something happened to camera during the run. So I didn't get any
incar video from a 305kmh pull. To see that run from the start line, please
see my other videos.
Here is incar video until camera dies. Start is @1min.
Yes, You Can Build a Sick Vintage Rally Car - AFTER/DRIVE
Ever wanted to go back in time, when screaming two-stroke Saabs were the
kings of rally? Find out how you can, with Bruce Turk, Saab jedi-master and
vintage rally dude.
On the car's specs Bruce adds: "It now has a 850cc three cylinder two
stroke motor that started life as a 750cc but the block was bored out to
850cc. It has Monte Carlo 850 pistons, a GT 750 crank shaft, a dual Solex
"Super kit Carb, lightened flywheel, heavy duty clutch (extra springs
added) fully ported intake and Exhaust
ports to rally spec II specifications and a Spec II rally 4 speed Saab gear
box which is very rare I might add... Oh, estimated HP is 60 BHP"

http://www.euroncap.com/tests/saab_9_3_2000/78.aspx Frontal Impact takes
place at 64 Km/h, 40% of the width of the car striking a deformable
barrier. In the side impact, a mobile deformable barrier impacts the
driver's door at 50 km/h. In the pole test, the car tested is propelled
sideways at 29km/h into a rigid pole.
