Launch Control in my R8 V10 Spyder
It's taken me a while to try the R8 V10's launch control capabilities but
what better opportunity than Accelerate PR's tuner day on the 2 mile runway
at Bruntingthorpe. My R8 Spyder officially has 518hp (525PS) but the
modifications of Quicksilver Sport Exhaust, K&N air filters and Michelin Pilot
Super Sport tyres helping a little in the performance stakes, unofficially
I estimate it at around 540hp. The Midnight Purple wrap by KIK Customs
probably added weight, but that's being picky!
I tried 3 launches, learning the process slightly. You put the ESP in Sport
mode, hold the brake and press the accelerator where it revs up to a
soft-launch at 1,500rpm, then release it and press again where it will hold
at 4,000rpm before you drop the brake and get kicked in the back!
The car reported 191mph, the race box declared 180mph but following the
filming it was established the box wasn't working correctly at that stretch
because other cars showed 180 that had gone faster. On a previous occasion I have driven
the R8 showing 191mph on a GPS but this must have been up to about 185mph!
Shortly after my brake pad warning light fired up so that was the end of
that day before getting it sorted.

Why a 2JZ Engine ?
2JZ is a favorite and I do not regret my choice because my 2JZ has a
story. My 1st 2JZ was given to Daigo Saito during the King of Europe Event
@ Circuit Parcmotor Castelloli (Spain) because he broke his engine.
When I gave to Daigo Saito my engine. It wasn't mounted yet so it wasn't
a problem and I didn't hesitate to give it to him :D it would have been a
huge mistake not to do.
And later Wise Square gave me another 2JZ to complete my S13, so what else

Seattle to Hella Flush 8 LA and back!
So.. As you may know, Anna Pham and I drove down to Hella Flush 8 in LA
over the weekend (May 19th-23rd) ! This video is just documenting our time
:D All of the rolling shots for the video were done by Anna because I was
driving~ Thank you again, Anna! The trip was so much fun.. I don't think I
could really put it into words.
The music that you're hearing on this film is basically a mashup of all the
different styles of music we listened to, to stay awake while driving 22
So.. You might notice the video is slightly choppy with the transitions. My
editing program failed completely. It wasn't rendering my files and I had
to hand record each clip and put it into premiere but doing that I lost
some of my audio edits and I don't really know how to work premiere and
well, this is what I have for you. When there's the clip of just my cars
rear bumper, it was supposed to have the sound from my Exhaust, but just nevermind that!

600WHP Subaru Impreza STi - Anti Lag and Cyclic Idle in Car Demo
Just put some finishing touches on tuning the anti lag to make it smoother.
Flipping the switch opens throttle plate 20% and engine runs on cyclic idle
@ 1,700rpm. When I step on the gas and engine rpm exceeds 3,000rpm and 30%+
throttle plate opening, anti lag is on. If engine rpm is under 3,000rpm for
5 seconds or more anti lag turns off and goes back to cyclic idle until I
flip the switch off.
At idle with anti lag on it's about 1-2psi Boost at 2,700rpm. Free revving it up I can
reach 5-10psi with no engine load.
BEFORE anyone asks how you get it and if you want it. Anti-lag is EXTREMELY
hard on the engine. You would need forged pistons, and built heads at a
minimum. The valvetrain takes a beating so inconel/super alloy Exhaust valves would be a must as long with
aftermarket valve springs. Also you're going to need a STRONG header.
