Isuzu 2015 BCCC Round 1 - Round Up
Round one of the Britpart MSA British Cross Country Championship (BCCC), took place in Myherin, Wales, commonly known as ‘Pikes Peak’. The Jewson Isuzu D-Max Rally team took part in the gruelling competition, with Jason Sharpe in the drivers seat and Richard Lester as co-driver. After completing three runs and racing the D-Max over one of the most extreme rough sections complete with deep dips and a massive jump, there was an overheat issue. The front bumper also took a knock after Jason took the D-Max to new heights, meaning it came down with a mighty crash. Despite these issues the D-Max shrugged them off and got on with the rest of the stages. This year Pikes Peak consisted of just one long, really rough, challenging section, rather than three that have been part of the course in previous years. Jason actually managed to get into 6th gear this year in comparison to last year, where all he managed was a few shifts to fifth gear. Run four was completed with absolutely no mistakes and on the final round, the D-Max come into contact with an extremely sharp rock that spilt the wheel in two, but thankfully the D-Max managed to see the rest of the stage through, as well as achieving an impressive time.
