427 Shelby Cobra Vs. GT500 Super Snake - 2 SHELBYS and 2 HOT LAPS

This just keeps getting better! After driving the 2011 Mustang GT500 Super Snake through the canyons near where I live...I was able to do a few hot laps in it on the road course outside Las Vegas Motor Speedway. And to make the day even better, I was able to do some laps in a 427 Shelby Cobra. Thanks to Gary Paterson from Shelby North America for letting me wheel these cars during our photo and video shoot for Hot Rod Magazine when we had a blast trying to find out which is the "Baddest Shelby Of All Time". Look for that video at youtube/hotrodmagazine. Don't watch this video expecting to see these cars at their performance limit...I'm not that guy. I'm just an average dude with a great opportunity to share this awesome experience and give my thoughts so fellow car guys can get a true feel for wheeling these amazing machines.

Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Super Snake - 750 Horsepower ROAD TEST
I was lucky enough to get the keys to this awesome car and wanted to share my quick blast up this canyon road with any fellow gear heads. I'm just your average car lover that happened upon this great opportunity to wheel one of the fastest production Mustangs ever made! Chevy, Mopar or Ford guys should appreciate this car...750 horsepower in a production street car is flat-out cool. Unfortunately my lack of skills don't do this car justice on the road...but this video will give you a taste of the immense power, ferocious sounds and sexy yet menacing looks of this American muscle car. Check out the other videos on my you tube channel... there are a few more road test videos with some great cars and build videos of my personal project vehicle, a 1970 Ford Maverick with a Dodge Viper V10 engine stuffed inside! Subscribe if you like them and I'll keep posting videos when I can... Thanks for watching! Jason Lewis

Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 HEMI - Special Edition ROAD TEST
Experience some sights and sounds of the 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 HEMI Inaugural Edition. I was able to drive it on the same canyon roads that I recently drove the Mustang Shelby GT500 and was shocked at how fast and how great this car handles for being over 600 lbs. heavier than the Shelby. This limited edition 392 I.E. package will cost about $47,000 and features the new 6.4L HEMI engine that is good for 470 horsepower and 470 ft.lbs. of torque. The special interior is very flashy at first but fits perfect with the overall feel of the car...which is in your face awesome but sedate enough to live with every day. Speaking of living with this car, during my grueling commute to work the few days I had this thing, my fuel mileage average was 21 mpg combo which blew me away. Do I want this car, heck yes I do! But this price range has some stiff competitors. The collect-ability factor is very high with this factory hot rod though. Dodge will make less than 1500 of these so you had better get in line pretty quick to own one.

Classic Mustang Coil-Over Conversion TCP Front Suspension Install
http://www.totalcontrolproducts.com/products.html In this video I install a Total Control Products Front Coil Over Conversion kit on the 73 Mustang and show just how easy it is to make your vintage Muscle Car handle like a true performance car! This was one of the easiest installs I've ever done and the parts from the kit are the real stars here. Make sure to let me know if the longer video format is good or if I should keep them shorter... PLUS I ask a few important questions at the end so watch and participate in the build!!! If you have any questions, just ask in the comments here or go to the autoedit facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/AUTOedit/275537595795645 or just call my friend Carl at Chris Alston's Chassiworks 888-388-0298...I was totally thrilled with their help and most importantly the parts!!! Keep it floored, Jason

2013 Shelby GT500 Super Snake: Is 850 HP Too Much? - Ignition Ep. 81
On this episode of Ignition, Carlos Lago tests the 850 horsepower Shelby GT500 Super Snake. A horsepower claim that high prompts three questions: Does it actually make that much power? Is it too much for the car? And how fast is it? We find out with a trip to K&N Engineering's Dyno, a drive on mountain roads, and a trip to the test track. Racing Vintage Cobras, Daytonas & Mustangs at the 2013 Shelby Convention! - HOT ROD Unlimited Ep. 38
By now every car lover knows who Carroll Shelby was, but what makes his cars so great? To find out, we headed to the Autoclub Speedway in Fontana, California, where the Shelby American Automobile Club was holding its annual Shelby Convention. We talked with racers and collectors, and got a chance to ride in a GT40 with a man who raced for Shelby back in the days, High Performance Driving School founder, Bob Bondurant. We also were on hand for the debut of the newly restored Essex Wire Cobra, one of the winningest big block Cobras ever to compete. We also take a look at what makes driving these cars special, and why people come from all over the world to see them in person, and hear them on the track. Top Gear testing a Mustang shelby GT500
Starting in 2008, previous 2007 Shelby GT500 Mustangs could be sent to Carroll Shelby's Special Performance Plant in Las Vegas to be rebuilt into a Super Snake, which resembles the 1968 GT500KR, for an additional cost of $27,995. The Super Snake will offer a 605 hp 5.4LEaton roots type supercharged version with warranty. A Kenne Bell twin-screw supercharged version with "over 725 hp" will also be available, without warranty and a 0-60 time of under 4 seconds.[1][2] The Super Snake is inspired by the 1967 GT500 Super Snake, a car made by Carroll Shelby for Goodyear Tires Automobile racer Carroll Shelby transformed a conventional Mustang into a serious track racer designated as the "GT-350". The fastbacks were shipped from the San Jose, California assembly plant and fitted with a "Hi-Po" 289, 4-speed manual transmission, and included front disc brakes and heavy duty rear drum brakes. Additionally, shortened hoods and deleted rear seats with identifying trim were among the visual variations. These select Mustangs were converted to street, road racing, and drag cars in Shelby's plant at Los Angeles International Airport

Superformance Cobra - Shelby Cobra Test Drive with Chris Moran
http://www.SupercarNetwork.com Superformance Shelby 427 Cobra from D&M Motorsports by Chris Moran It's mea culpa time. While it's probably best not to begin a review with an apology, I'd be fairly derelict in my auto bloggin' duty if I didn't admit that not only does this review represent my first time in a Cobra -- ever -- but that I went in wanting to love the car. After all, not only is the Cobra Daytona Coupe the single greatest car I've ever driven, but I'm what you might call a Shelby-head. At least once a week my fiancee is hollering at me to put one of my several Shelby books back in the bookcase. But still, before today, I'd never driven a Cobra. Of course, purists will argue I still haven't. This gun metal gray beauty wasn't built on Princeton Ave. in Venice Beach. Nor was it built at Shelby America's hanger near LAX. In fact, it wasn't even built in America. No, this particular Cobra -- the Superformance MKIII R, a special version of their MKIII -- is built in South Africa. Recently, too. The MKIII R actually has a modern, square-tube spaceframe chassis with different hard points and suspension than you'd find underneath a classic Cobra's skin. Perhaps it's not a "real" Cobra, but here's what Carroll Shelby has to say about Superformance's efforts, "It's not a true Shelby, but I've endorsed and licensed the car for being as close to correct and well-built as possible." Good enough for me. And old Carroll was talking about the regular MKIII, not the one-of-two-ever-built MKIII Rs. And it's only when you start to take in the finer details of the MKIII R that you realize just how special this particular vehicle is. First of all, unlike the bulk of Cobra recreations, the hoses coming out of the lower, jaw-mounted oil cooler aren't anodized red and blue metal -- they're black. In fact all the trim on the MKIII R's exterior is black chrome. Each piece is hand dipped and goes beautifully with the Viper Steel Grey paint and dual red and black pinstripes. The miniature beast sits crouched on 18-inch American Racing 427 Series wheels with custom pin drive centers. In all honesty, the MKIII R's one of the most beautiful vehicles I've ever laid eyes on... and I've looked at plenty. During our photo shoot, Drew Phillips and I just kept shaking our heads in amazement. You just don't see cars this lusty, this sculpted and this desirable. We were just mesmerized by its dark, sinister charms -- hypnotized even. The longer you leer the better looking it gets. From the pontoons supporting the tri-power lights, to the longer than you'd think snout, to the massive rear-haunches, to the aluminium dash and rear-firewall -- every line, every curve, ever angle is placed perfectly and brought to life by a meticulous finish. Drew, for his part, has shot dozens of Cobras and kept repeating, "I think this is my favorite." Mine too. But is there go with all that show? I suppose now's the point where I should explain that the "R" in Superformance MKIII R stands for Roush. And under the aluminum hood sits an absolute brute of a motor. A Roush 427 SR to be specific -- one that generates 520 horsepower and 530 pound-feet of torque. And all that fury gets ram-rodded through a nine-inch racing clutch to a Dana Hydra-Lok limited-slip differential fitted with 3.46:1 gears. Superformance took great pains to point out that the entire clutch assembly -- the clutch, flywheel and pressure plate -- weighs just twenty-two pounds. The MKIII R rides around on Bilstein coilovers (mounted straight up and down, unlike the original cars slanted inboard shock system) and gets hauled to a stop by Wilwood Big Brakes. 1965 Shelby Cobra + 700 HP + Kirkham + Fast
Replica 1965 Shelby Cobra owned by Len B, produced by Kirkham Motor Sports. The car only weighs 2100 pound due to its aluminum body which is made in Poland at a former MIG aircraft factory. The cars weight is also low due to aluminum suspension and motor. The motor is a Shelby aluminum block 427fe which produces 700 horse power (i.e., FAST) !!! That is the same power to weight ratio as a bullet bike. To the dismay of several bullet bike riders; Len likes to show them who is "the boss" in a race from time to time.

Which car is faster? Which Car is Faster?
