Rotary 20B turbo RX7 - Dyno & track
Built as an all-round event's car, Charles' Mazda RX-7 has undergone
serious chassis and engine changes including a Promaz Automotive
bridge-port 20B rotary engine. Boost
comes from a Garrett turbocharger while
the engine runs on methanol fuel controlled by a MicroTech LT16 computer
and LTC dash logger. Backed by a Jerico 5-speed dogbox, the clutch was
suffering on the Dyno
as the Promaz team got the car ready for Performance Car Mania. [

The film that really set it all off.
We waited on the side of the highway to find some fast Gumball cars to race
with. After waiting for more then 4 hours "Lonman" drove up in his modified
Porsche GT 2 and the rest is history. It is from this short film that the
Gumball's motto was made, "It's not a Race, It's a Rally". Also we gave
the footage to be used in "Gumball 3000: The Movie" and it was used as the
climax race scene. The repercussions from this films popularity can be
seen in "Vehicular Lunatics" and our new film "Team Tork and the
PS. The helicopter at the end was not a police helicopter as feared but
rather the Gumball film crew helicopter.

combines well japanese traditional intruments with modern ones and it suits
really well with the car´s philoshofy
Rotary 20B turbo Mazda RX-7 - Promaz Automotive
Charles' Promaz Mazda FD RX-7 runs a personal best pass at Heathcote. The
triple rotor stock import engine sounds great and certainly spices things
up. Boost comes from a Garrett
GTX42R turbo on just 13psi Boost, MicroTech LX12 computer running on
regular pump 98-octane unleaded. The drive-line still remains factory RX-7
issue and on the day saw Charles break not only a gearbox but also a
driveshaft. [ http://www.promaz.com.au ].

Street Racing is Not a Crime (in Alachua County?)
Top Gear USA films a segment on US-441 through Paynes Prairie during a
"commute" stage from Gainesville to Micanopy. Despite notice given to Law
Enforcement and Media, no cops bothered to close down the road or protect
public safety (for example, passing a liquid nitrogen truck going 100+
MPH). *Production Crew Minivans and SUVs were used to block traffic and
weave back and forth, preventing traffic from entering the shots.* Even
when police did "close down" downtown Micanopy and High Springs, it was the
video production crew that controlled the situation, not First Responders.
By statutory definition, this evidence qualifies as "racing." Evidently if
you show up with a big budget and tell the cops, "We're going to film a TV
show how we see fit," they'll leave you alone! In reality, since Racing is
not a real crime, none of this would be a big deal and cops should just let
it happen, as they did here. Except for the hypocritical fact local cops
do not recognize IMV Films with the same equal protections of law, and
think they can arrest citizens with free association devoid of Probable
Cause. Lets test that in Federal Court.
