2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8 Test Drive & Luxury Muscle Car Video Review

Well the SRT8 version is a tricked out muscle car that delivers tons of power and performance. SRT stands for Street Racing Team and this division of Chrysler takes a normal car and turn up the heat. Base price on the 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8 is $47,670. The 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8 is all about power with its giant 6.4 liter HEMI V-8 engine lurking under the hood. This luxury sports sedan produces an huge 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft. of torque. That translates into a 0-60 MPH time of less than 5 seconds! The transmission is a 5-speed automatic and the 300 SRT8 comes standard with both traction and stability control in an effort to keep all that power on the road. Fuel economy is not so great at 14 MPG in the city and 23 MPG on the highway. On the outside the huge chrome 20-inch wheels with Brembo brakes lurking behind are the first top-off that this 300 SRT8 is something special. Up front the blacked out grille and the LED headlights give this luxury sport sedan an aggressive look. The interior of the 2012 Chrysler SRT8 is a combination of both sport and luxury. Only 658 examples were produced from 1988-1989 before the introduction of the Diablo. " The rear 'air boxes' were restyled and enlarged, while the vents behind them were changed so that they ran front to back instead of side to side. In addition, a new air dam and side skirting, both with air intakes, were fitted, and the taillights were restyled to be narrower, with body-colored panels replacing the upper and lower parts of the previous large taillights. The styling changes were unpopular with many, particularly since the intakes had strakes in them that appeared to mimic those on the Ferrari Testarossa, but they improved the engine's cooling, a problem the Countach had always struggled with.
