Andrew Dyson had his immaculate 13B powered Mazda R100 out doing some license passes. The car has made big steps since first test session and will definitely be a contender in the Pro Compact class.
6.84 @ 196 MARK JACOBSEN - 3.2L RB NISSAN R35
Mark Jacobsen was out doing some testing for Jamboree this weekend. He
managed to match his PB 6.84 on the 2nd run and was more then happy with
the 2 passes in the lead up to this weekend's Jamboree.

Mazda R100. The little SIK100 also took a few passengers down the track for
some joyrides as well as competing in its race class. Unfortunately due to
rain the event didn't get to run through some of the finals but Chris and
crew put on a great show for the crowd while laying down some low 8 second
4 ROTOR TURBO BMW [Queen St Customs]
This is the only footage so far of the famous Queen St BMW 26b Quad rotor
turbo drag car. It was running a little
off, but managed a 7.74 @ 188mph. I believe this was one of the first quad
rotor turbo drag car's in the world, but
im sure someone can give us more info on that in the comments section!

WORLDS FASTEST AWD / 4G63 DATSUN / 20B RX7 IN TESTING
Willowbank Raceway held the 1st of the 2012 Top Sportman Series on the
weekend. Reece McGregor and the Heat Treatments Skyline thought it would be
a good chance to have some test runs in their worlds fastest RB26 powered
4wd skyline. The team worked hard all day and were rewarded with a final
pass or 7.64, not far off their 7.56 record, although something tells me
theres plenty more to come from this car again.
Another car using the test lane was Rob Novak in his Jett Racing 4G63
powered Datsun 1200. The team made adjustments through the day and saw a PB
7.35 @ 187mph on the second last pass of the night, the final wild pass on
video then saw a transmission failure but a happy team none the less.
Final team testing was the Direct Clutch/Promodz Rx7, the car is 3/4
chassis and a running 3rotor 20BT tweaked by Mazfix. The team recently made
adjustments in the rear and also in transmission and are starting to see
results, it ran a 7.99 @ 171mph through the day, then later in the night
suffered a leaking Boost pipe.
Owners Jerry and Dan tell me they havent even started to push the motor
yet, so another car with plenty more to come, and im sure that pb 7.80 will
soon be slashed.
These cars should all be running at the up and coming Sydney Jamboree at
WSID and by the looks of things have some unfinished business they want to
take care of :)

Part 12: 13B Rotary Engine Rebuild - My 76 Mazda RX-5 Cosmo Restoration
Just as I promised last episode, it is finally time to build the engine!
Part 12 of my RX-5 Cosmo restoration covers the entire process of building
the 6 port 13B Mazda rotary engine. While this engine is a hybrid of GSL-SE
RX-7 and Cosmo parts, the process is the same for any rotary from a 12A to
a 13B NA, 13B turbo, 13B-REW or any
other variant of the 13B. This video shows the whole process of the engine
build, starting from measuring the rotors and covering everything else
including clearancing the side seals, assembling the rotors, complete
assembly the short block, setting the eccentric shaft end play and
installing the front cover and everything underneath it. It's probably the
most complete engine build video outside of what you can buy from the
vendors, and as such, is an hour long. After this one, I'm going back to
videos under 20 minutes. But for now, grab a beverage of your choice, sit
back, and enjoy.

Ross' slick looking Mazda RX3 street car performs a few shakedown runs at

and Boost by a Garrett GTX42R turbo shifting through an Albins equipped
S5 RX-7 gearbox.

VQ35 INFINITY/ 2JZ SOLARA/ 4G63 ECLIPSE/ 20B MAZDA 6 XTREME TESTING 20.10.2012
On the weekend just passed, Willowbank Raceway held on Andra Test day event
where a few Factory Xtreme teams gathered to get in some track time. Scott
Porter had his Nissan Infinity there trying out some new gear on the VQ35.
The team finished with a 6.80 on the day with some good data taken.
Hurricane Racing were out with their Solara and got it down the track after
a bog for a 7.1 @ 203, but were then troubled by injector issues. Colin
Willshire and Jett Racing were out testing their Mitsubishi Eclipse and on
the pass before the one shown on camera, ran a 6.97, but then struggled to
get the power to the ground as the day went on. Mazfix Performance also had
their newly completed Mazda 6 out, the team are still sorting out gremlins
on the car and were bothered all day by a flywheel issue, but is showing
some good potential in early stages.
20B rotary RX-7 Spirit R: The Ultimate Street Mazda
Built by Promaz Automotive, we think it's hard to go past Steve's wicked
Series 8 FD RX-7 if rotaries are your game. Limited to around 1500 unit's,
the Spirit R was the last of the RX-7's and featured a lot of upgraded
factory parts as well as a low 1100kg weight.
Now powered by a lethal Promaz triple rotor 20B extend port rotary engine,
power is aided by a Garrett GT42R turbo
and MicroTech fuel system and transmitted through an Albins 5-speed gearbox
