Dodge Viper V10 in a Ford Maverick Build Video 2 - New Work Space / Inspection and Plans

http://fennelrestorations.com/web-content/index_new.html http://www.smithbrosrestorations.com/ This is the second video entry for the build up of the Viper Powered FORDGE Maverick. The first was when I brought the car home from storage and for many reasons never got farther on it. Then my friend and mentor Mike Fennel offered me a spot in his shop and I jumped at the opportunity. With the help of my good friend Jamey Smith, who has built and restored dozens of cars (including several 69 Dodge Charger General Lees), we loaded the Maverick on a trailer and cleared a spot for it at Mikes. I took this chance to have the two of them look over the car as it sits to see if there is anything they would change before we move forward. Turns out, the car is in pretty good shape! Now it's time to chase down some very important parts and see if we can get the thing started. My budget has been completely demolished over the last few years with other projects and just surviving so I'm going to have to be very creative on funding. This video series will try to keep fans of the build up do date with the status and try to stir up interest for any sponsors that might want to help. I would like to give a huge thank you to http://flowmastermufflers.com/ for already kicking in the tubing and mufflers for this project. Every bit helps and this thing is going to sound awesome. Thanks for watching and don't hesitate to comment or send me advice! Jason Lewis

Dodge Viper V10 in a Ford Maverick Build Video 3 - Engine Removal / Oil Pan Issues
http://fennelrestorations.com/web-content/index_new.html This is video blog three of the Viper powered Maverick build up. Today I was able to pull the engine and transmission out of the car so the next phase of modifications could be made. First, because the engine is mounted so low in the vehicle to fit under the stock hood...the oil pan is going to need fairly serious modification to give a practical amount of ground clearance. Next, I wanted to turn the engine upside down to dump the dog food that a rat had stashed in the intake manifold galley and get ready for the cam swap which will be in an upcoming video. Thanks for watching and I'll keep the videos coming as often as I get a chance to work on the car!

Here in the United States the Ford Maverick is remembered, if it's remembered at all, as the car that replaced Ford's original compact, the Falcon, back in 1970. Top Gear testing a Mustang shelby GT500
Starting in 2008, previous 2007 Shelby GT500 Mustangs could be sent to Carroll Shelby's Special Performance Plant in Las Vegas to be rebuilt into a Super Snake, which resembles the 1968 GT500KR, for an additional cost of $27,995. The Super Snake will offer a 605 hp 5.4LEaton roots type supercharged version with warranty. A Kenne Bell twin-screw supercharged version with "over 725 hp" will also be available, without warranty and a 0-60 time of under 4 seconds.[1][2] The Super Snake is inspired by the 1967 GT500 Super Snake, a car made by Carroll Shelby for Goodyear Tires Automobile racer Carroll Shelby transformed a conventional Mustang into a serious track racer designated as the "GT-350". The fastbacks were shipped from the San Jose, California assembly plant and fitted with a "Hi-Po" 289, 4-speed manual transmission, and included front disc brakes and heavy duty rear drum brakes. Additionally, shortened hoods and deleted rear seats with identifying trim were among the visual variations. These select Mustangs were converted to street, road racing, and drag cars in Shelby's plant at Los Angeles International Airport
