132760 / 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 RS
For more information on this vehicle visit http://tinyurl.com/cfy6bzv It's no secret that we here at RK Motors Charlotte are fans of sleepers, and this gorgeous Cortez Silver Z/28 tribute is most definitely a sleeper. Now you may be asking yourself, "How can a high-performance Camaro with stripes and that famous Z/28 badge on its flanks possibly be a sleeper?" Well, I'll tell you how: 468 cubic inches of big block Chevy under the hood. That's 166 more than a Z/28 originally had, and 118 more than this car was originally packing when it rolled off the assembly line. And the old adage is 100% true; there's just no replacement for displacement. Originally a Hugger Orange coupe with a garden-variety 350, it was transformed into this Cortez Silver Z/28 tribute only recently, and it is the result of a frame-off rotisserie restoration that addressed every issue. Stripped to a bare shell and rebuilt from there, we have photos that prove that no corners were cut and that every piece of metal on this car was adjusted and sanded until it was as good as it could be. The paint is base/clear, and the Cortez Silver is a welcome change, sleek and sophisticated, and the black stripes that are buried under the clear coat give it a hardened edge that perfectly matches the rumbling Exhaust note. But Camaros are all about horsepower, and this car more than most. The engine is a built 468 cubic inch big block, which has been fully rebuilt with all the good stuff. All told, it makes pretty close to 500 horsepower, which translates to astounding performance on the street. The air cleaner looks a lot like an original open-element unit and features a stock type decal, and it matches the polished valve covers. Bright red ignition wires add some flash to the monochromatic engine bay, along with the Chevy Orange paint on the block itself. You'll note that A/C has been added, and a thick radiator keeps it cool on the hottest days. An Optima gel cell battery delivers the cranking power to turn over that big engine, even when it's hot. A heavy-duty 4-speed automatic with extra clutch plates was built just for this car, and the power gets delivered to the tires by a 12-bolt filled with 3.73 gears. The suspension features all-new springs, bushings, and fasteners, so it rides and handles like a new car. Wheels are custom-made Rallys that measure 15x7 up front and 15x8 out back for a subtle upgrade that doesn't jump out—you just know the car looks more muscular for some reason. Tires are BFGoodrich T/A radials that really stuff the wheel wells. For 1969, there's just no question that the hounds tooth upholstery is as cool as it gets. Quirky and unique, but also stylish and tasteful, it's the perfect compliment to the sophisticated Cortez Silver paint and black stripes. Of course, it's all new stuff in there, from the seats to the door panels to the headliner and carpets. Look closely and you'll note that the horseshoe shifter for the automatic has been subtly modified to accommodate the 4-speed transmission and its accompanying overdrive, which is an extremely cool trick. Extensive use of Dynamat throughout the interior succeeds in making this a cool, comfortable place to drive, and makes the 200-watt speakers and Retro Sound stereo with MP3 capability sound awesome. The auxiliary gauges are fully functional, and the Vintage Air system blows ice cold and features electronic controls. The trunk is nicely finished with a reproduction trunk mat, full-sized spare, and a jack assembly. For all the performance this car packs, it's a surprisingly docile, neat package. Reliable, powerful, and well built, this Camaro is ready to hit the road this show season and maybe take home a few awards. If you need any more proof that '69 Camaros are red-hot collector items, look at this one very carefully and you'll see why they're such ideal hobby cars. With stunning good looks that match its performance, it's hard to have more fun than this with a car. Call, click or visit RKMotorsCharlotte.com for more information on this awesome car!

http://www.ClassicCarBuyingSecrets.com Click now for an instant download on "How to Avoid the 7 Deadliest Mistakes of Buying a Classic Car Online"! If you're reading this, you already know what an amazing machine any early Z/28 really is. Built to take no prisoners, the Z/28 dominated both road and drag racing, and its infamy is most definitely well-earned. This 1969 Camaro is a true X33 code, numbers matching Z/28 RS, not a clone. This is a rare Olympic Gold and Black Z/28, and it has been nicely restored to a very high standard. The restoration took six years to complete, and was finished in 2008. There are less than 600 miles on the restoration. With these cars seeming to get more valuable by the day, it just makes sense to do the best possible job you can when you have the chance. And that's exactly what happened here. The bodywork is straight, the paint looks dazzling, the body gaps are exact, and the black stripes are the perfect visual warning to complement the Z's performance potential. This one is also a real Rally Sport, making the grille with hidden headlights a rather rare piece on a Z/28. It also has exemplary chrome bumpers front and rear, crisply polished stainless trim, and correct Z/28 badges on the front fenders. The black vinyl top is beautiful, the glass is excellent with no chips or scratching, and out back the tail light lenses remain bright and clear. This is an extremely clean, authentic Z/28 Camaro. Under the hood you will find the original numbers matching 302 motor, which makes this Camaro a quick street fighter. The motor runs beautifully and sounds really nice, thanks to its ceramic coated headers and big Exhaust system. Everything is nicely detailed, with no trace of abuse anywhere. Heck, it looks like everything is brand new. The only transmission you could get with your Z/28 was a 4-speed Muncie M20, and that's what still lives behind the high-winding small block. It is extremely clean and well built, and it's obvious that no corners were cut during the restoration. Correct Rally wheels give it a true 1969 fresh look. The Black Deluxe Interior (7 12 trim code) is in excellent condition throughout. The bucket seats, fresh carpets, and door panels are just as fresh as they were when the restoration was completed. In fact, the back seat looks completely unused and there's no evidence that this car has spent any notable time out in the hot sun, as neither the dash pad nor the carpets have faded one iota. The headliner looks brand new and fits tight across. The center console houses a Hurst shifter, the gauges are clear and functional and the factory A/C blows ice cold. With the prices of matching-numbers Z/28s rapidly closing in on six-figures, that will obviously move them into the "too nice to drive" category. But if you're the kind of guy who believes in putting his hardware on the road, in the feel of a perfectly executed downshift, and the banshee wail of a powerful small block, then this exceptionally clean and fast Z/28 is a bargain. Beautifully restored, and a pleasure to drive, you'll be proud to answer, "Yes!" every time someone asks if it's a real Z/28. Call Tom 248-974-9513 www.vanguardmotorsales.com

1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 RS Tribute Lemans Blue Four Speed
Be sure to check us out on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/RamblinAroundTV I thought you might like a look at this very click 1969 Chevrolet Camaro. They have trimmed this car out like a Z28, with Z28 badge, the striping, RS badging, and hideaway headlights. It's painted in Lemans Blue, which happens to be one of my favorite colors on these cars. The original, would have had a high-winding 302 V8 under the hood, but this one has a strong running 350 in it's place. The engine is topped with an aluminum air gap style intake, a Holley 4 BBL carb, MSD ingnition, and a set of coated headers. Just like the original, the engine is backed by a four-speed manual transmission, sending power back to a 12 bolt posi rear. They have completely redone the interior, with the seats in the popular houndstooth pattern. I hope you find it interesting, thanks for taking a look! The Camaro was touted as having the same conventional rear-drive, front-engine configuration as Mustang and Chevy Nova. In addition, the Camaro was designed to fit a variety of power plants in the engine bay. The first-generation Camaro would last until the 1969 model year.
