Ride in an Audi R8 around Lime Rock Park

7/6/07 - The 2007 American Le Mans Series New England Grand Prix @ Lime Rock Park, Connecticut Thanks to Audi Sport North America's amazing hospitality, Tim was able to get a ride around the track at Lime Rock Park in the brand new Audi R8 on qualifying day for the 2007 ALMS race. Although it doesn't look like they are going very fast, the car is actually going over 100 mph at some points...in the rain! *Earlier in the day, Tim also got to take a couple laps around the track in the official pace car: a BMW M5. They went quite a bit faster in that car (about 140 mph) because it was dry at the time.

2001 12 Hours of Sebring Prototype Cars - Audi R8 - ILMC - ALMS
P1 Cars staged up for a Practice Session. The #1 Audi, powered by a 3.6L V8, with drivers Rinaldo Capello, Laurent Arello & Michele Alboreto aboard, went on to be the overall winners of the 2001 12 Hours of Sebring. The second place car was also an Audi R8 - Car #2 - driven by Frank Biela, Emanuele Pirro, & Tom Kristensen. Finishing third on the podium was Audi R8 - Car #38 - of Champion Racing, driven by Dorsey Schroeder, Andy Wallace & Ralf Kelleners. The #18 Audi R8, in the Gulf Oil Robbins Egg blue and Orange paint scheme, went on to finish 4th. The #72 Peugeot, powered by a 3.2L turbo V6, driven by Jean-Christophe Boullion, Sebastian Bourdais & Laurent Redon, was a DNF after completing 167 laps. The #50 Panoz LMP07, powered by a 4.0L V8, driven by Jan Magnussen & David Brabham, was also a DNF. The #51 Panoz LMP07, driven by Klaus Graf & Gualter Salles was a DNF.
