Mercedes Concept Coupé SUV
With the Concept Coupé SUV, Mercedes-Benz is raising the standard to a
new, higher level in literally multiple respects. This extremely sporty
study impresses as a typical representative of the long-standing coupé
tradition at Mercedes-Benz, with a flowing side line, stretched greenhouse
and striking radiator grille with central chrome louvre. At the same time
the Concept Coupé SUV stands out with its muscular wings, large wheel
arches, imposing 22-inch wheels, high beltline and generous ground
clearance. Its dynamic handling on the road is also on a superior level.
Not only thanks to air suspension, but also to the networking of the
powertrain, suspension and interior that it realises. The variable dynamic
control system "Dynamic Select Control" provides four fundamentally
different transmission modes and an individually programmable setup.
New Jaguar XE: Better-connected by far
A smooth, supple ride, exceptionally sharp steering, quiet, luxurious cabin
and seamless connectivity – the new Jaguar XE delivers in all respects
and is equipped with a wide range of state-of-the art technologies designed
to make every journey an even more enjoyable experience.
The new XE’s InControl infotainment system is designed around an 8-inch
touchscreen. A clear, intuitive user interface gives quick, easy access to
all features and functions, and voice control using plain speech means that
drivers can keep their eyes on the road at all times.
Smartphones are changing the way people interact with the world around them
– the new XE ensures that drivers stay connected. Jaguar InControl Remote
allows users of iOS and Android smartphones to connect to the car from
wherever they are and control a range of vehicle functions. These include
seven-day timed pre-setting of the XE’s climate control system, locking
or unlocking the doors, or starting the engine.
Jaguar InControl Apps allows users to seamlessly access smartphone apps
through the vehicle’s touchscreen, making it easy to do everything from
make a conference call, find a parking space or book a hotel room. The XE
also functions as a Wi-Fi hotspot, enabling multiple devices to connect to
the internet – the vehicle antenna provides the best possible signal.
The sophistication of the infotainment system is matched by the array of
advanced driver assistance systems available in the new XE: the laser
head-up display (HUD) is an industry-first. Projecting sharp, high-contrast
colour images onto the windscreen, the technology provides the driver with
information such as speed and navigation instructions with maximum clarity
and minimum distraction. As well as better image quality, the laser HUD is
smaller and almost a third lighter than existing systems.
Designed and engineered in the UK, the aluminium-intensive XE will be the
first Jaguar manufactured at a new purpose-built production facility at the
company's Solihull plant in the West Midlands in the UK.
The world premiere of the new Jaguar XE will be held in London on September

2014 Audi RS7 Test Drive Video Review
http://www.autobytel.com/audi/rs-7/2014/?id=32972 The RS is the top of
Audi's performance line-up. The RS 7 sits above the A7 and the S7 models.
The starting price is north of $105k but you get a whole ton of
performance. Under the hood lives a 4.0 liter twin-turbo V-8 monster that makes 560 horsepower and 516 lb-ft. of
torque. The Audi RS 7 can run from 0-60 MPH in 3.7 seconds. Fuel economy is
actually very good at 16 MPG in the city and 27 MPG on the highway thanks
to the cylinder deactivation system. With the RS 7 you also get a
wonderfully load and entertaining Exhaust.
The RS 7 gets special embroidered seats, badging, and unique interior
trims. The gauges are clear and easy to read and the pop-up navigation
screen is great. The rear passengers enjoy plenty of legroom but not as
much headroom since the hatchback design of the RS 7 cuts down that space.
That is one of the few negatives on this Sportback design. The benefit
though is an enlarged trunk area that has more cubic feet of space.
The driving experience is incredible. The car has the adaptive air
suspension which combines the best of both worlds: a comfortable ride
coupled with excellent body control. Also the Torque Vectoring Rear Diff is
on hand to keep you out of trouble. Bottom line: the Audi RS 7 delivers
just what it promises!
