Hitting 150 with SRT's Ralph Gilles - Autoline After Hours 150
There's no doubt that one of the most hotly anticipated cars to rise from the ashes of the Detroit auto implosion is the 2013 SRT Viper. On this week's show, we get down to brass tacks and talk to the man behind the two-seat beast. And, that man is none other than the President and CEO of the SRT Brand, Ralph Gilles. We'll be getting all of the details about the fierce new snake, where the SRT brand is going, and we'll ask what we can expect next from Chrysler's rising star. To discuss this and more, John McElroy is joined in studio by co-host Peter De Lorenzo, the Autoextremist, and Chris Paukert from Autoblog.

Ralph Gilles' "Storm" Viper GTS Dyno
Ralph Gilles' personal car, nicknamed "Storm", runs on the Dyno at the 2013 Chrysler Carlisle Nationals in Pennsylvania. This is the second 2013 SRT Viper GTS ever to be made, with the first one being auctioned at Barrett Jackson for charity. His beautiful white GTS does four pulls on the Dyno with the highest horsepower being 578.53 and highest torque being 540.56 ft.lbs. When I asked him about upcoming GT3-R Sales, the video cut off before he finished saying most of the interest was in Europe. Here's to hoping some of these will show up at domestic GT events in the very near future. Also, when I asked him about his Florida-California Road Trip, the pictures of that car were so snow-covered, I forgot it was the black GTS, nicknamed "Mystique". X-Men much? Then again, the under-hood X-Brace is also called "Spidey". Ralph truly is one of the most down-to-Earth and approachable CEO's you could ever meet, from taking pictures with children and answering almost any questions from the invading swarm, to shaking my hand in appreciation upon me telling him, "You did an amazing job with the new GTS, you brought the Viper back to life!"

2008 Dodge Challenger SRT10 Concept 8.4 Viper V10 600 hp 770 Nm
The opportunity for SRT engineering to "one-up" itself comes to fruition with the Dodge Challenger SRT10 Concept. Power for the car comes from the Dodge Viper 8.4-liter, all-aluminum V-10 engine with 600 horsepower and 560 lb. ft. of torque. It's a vehicle that delivers the well-known SRT credo of benchmark performance. The Dodge Challenger SRT10 Concept includes a fresh coat of Tornado Red paint with a carbon-fiber deck lid and hood. The "shaker hood" is a nostalgic representation of the 1970 HEMI Cuda, giving the 600-hp Viper V-10 engine room to breathe. Brakes have been upgraded and BILSTEIN® shocks at all four corners improve handling balance. The interior boasts sport seats and carbon-fiber accents throughout and, of course, true to the Viper-powered vehicle lineage, a red engine start push-button in the dash.
