1960 Peterbilt Hotrod Truck called Piss'd Off Pete
While I was at SEMA 2009 a captured a video of Piss'd Off Pete's engine being revved up in front of a huge SEMA crowd just down from the Autogeek.net booth.
This is Jay Leno's 1960 chopped Peterbilt with a 852ci two-stroke Detroit Diesel twin-supercharged V12 mated to an Allison 4-speed automatic transmission from a Greyhound bus. The engine produces 500 horsepower and nearly 1000 lb-ft torque with a red line of just 2,800 rpm. Built by the Blastolene Brothers.

70 Double Blown GTO
My 1970 GTO with two blowers. It's 474ci Pontiac engine with a 8-71 blower on top of a 6-71 blower. This is from the last day of being double blown. I'm going to one single 8-71 blower and going racing. The front clip was removed to make it easier to work on. The reason for the double blowers was not as a power enhancement like many ASSume. I stacked the blowers to have a car that stood out in the crowd. Most Pro Street cars were starting to blend together. If you seen one, you had seen them all. That wasn't the case with this GTO. Al someone had to say was "The double blower GTO" and people knew which car. I was told it couldn't be done, so I attempted it and it worked. It stayed that way for almost 2 years. I knew a twin turbo setup would make more HP. I knew I could have run a 14-71 blower and made more power. That wasn't the point. I wanted to be different than the other cars in the parking lot, I did that now it's time to ove on. For all those people who don't understand why, I'm not going to try and explain it to you anymore. Get over it. I didn't expect EVERYONE to love it. But you won't forget it.
Yeti Concept Truck
Master fabricator Rex Bailey used the Samson™ CNC machine to build the "Yeti" (the abominable snowman), a monster truck that drives through snow more than 3 feet deep. The 76-inch tractor tires, Unimog portal axles, and modified Dodge 3500 Cummins diesel truck are all joined together by custom-designed plates that Rex made with the machine. http://www.samsoncnc.com
Audi R8 4.2l V8 ohne ESD / without exhaust
This Audi R8 4.2l V8 has no Exhaust and is really loud. We were working on this car and wanted to install a new sports Exhaust by Supersport.de when we decided to just let it run without the Exhaust. You like?

Turbine Engine: full power ... LOUD!
This is more film of the GE LM1500 gas turbine engine running at the S&S Turbines open-air test cell.
All the noise in the beginning is made by the start cart, which is a 90Hp turbine engine. Even when you hear the LM1500 start to wind up, it's not even running until you see the heat waves coming out the back of it.
This happens when the operator opens the fuel valve at around 2,000 rpm.
In the middle of the video, when the noise in an unbearable shriek, the engine is turning just over 7000 rpm, and is blowing hot air out the jetpipe to the tune of a little more than 15 thousand horsepower.
The air flow through the engine at full power is about 150 pounds per second.
In the view of the control room screen, the numbers are as follows from left to right along the top of the screen:
EGT or Exhaust gas temperature in degrees Celsius, measured just after the last stage of the turbine, which is just behind the second green steel frame holding the engine.
Next is RPM. This engine has basically one rotating shaft, and you can just barely see the 1st stage compressor blades moving on shutdown. Engine RPM is of this common shaft, upon which all compressor and turbine stages are mounted.
5,000 rpm is idle speed for this engine.
Last, on the right, is lube oil pressure, in pounds per square inch. These engines have roller bearings, not journal bearings like a car engine, so oil pressure is mainly an indication of oil flow. A lot of flow is needed, because the oil is used as a coolant for the main bearings. The engine will run with no oil pressure, except the bearings will overheat, so monitoring of oil flow is very important.
This is the same engine you see in "Starting a large turbine engine"
Note: All references to podracers will be deleted.
If you have to ask why, it can't be explained to you.

"Brutus" race car - 750hp 46L V12 1908
"Brutus" from Germany at Concours d'élégance Paleis Het Loo, Apeldoorn, Netherlands.
An extraordinary vehicle that was constructed in the Auto & Technik MUSEUM SINSHEIM's workshops under the project name "Brutus", is - like the Maybach special racing car - also following the tradition of the Blitzen-Benz. After WW I many aircraft engines were available since Germany was not allowed to own aircraft. These engines were installed on old undercarriages and used to perform races. An undercarriage with chaindrive of 1908 was being used as a basis for the "Brutus" project. A 12-cylinder aircraft engine with 46 liters displacement and a constant performance of 500 hp at 1500 rpm or 750 hp at 1700 rpm, that was located in Spain by our club member Hans Dittes, was mounted on top. The attraction of this vehicle is not least due to the fact that it is going to reach a speed of far beyond 100 km/h at about 800 rpm only. After several years of hard work the vehicle was completed. It already was presented in action at many events.
Burnouts open headers on the street
I am the announcer at Kansas City International Raceway.KCIR. This video was taken June 3rd. 2006 on a very busy 4 lane road that was just resurfaced and repainted, i think they did it just for me and a couple of hundred of my friends. It was called an open header cruise, where cars would cruise to Fuddruckers about 5 miles from the dragstrip. Then with the help of some friends we shut down the road for about 20 minutes until the police showed up.
