74 Chevy Nova Update 12 - Block Sanding Doors #2 with Timelapse

Here I block sand my Door panels for the second time. When I reprimed the doors, I added extra paint to the lows so that I can block sand the doors smooth. I show this in this video with timelapse of the actual sanding process from start to finish.

74 Chevy Nova Update 13 - Hi build primer Doors
I prepped the epoxied doors and sprayed my 2K hi build primer on both sides. Did each side on seperate days. Looking good.

74 Chevy Nova Update 11 - Re-Epoxy Primed Doors
Block sanded the doors to see where I was at with the body work and reprimed with Epoxy primer again. Only the outer portion of the door was reprimed as the bottom inner portion does not need body work.

74 Chevy Nova Update 47 - Bare Metal Cowl Hood
Took off all of the E-coating down to bare metal on the Cowl hood. Did my minor body work and prepped for paint. With this being the last panel, I have officially taken the entire car down to bare metal!! (Every body panel)

74 Chevy Nova Update 37 - Rear Filler Panel 3 Progress and Jamb Painting
Part 3 Attached the aluminum strips to the filler panel and Jamb painted the rear since when bumper is installed, it will no longer be accessible. I also show the paint process and a small demonstation on how flexible the clear is.

74 Chevy Nova Update 29 - Rust Removal Method
The fountain of youth for metal. I show how I turned back the hands of time to remove surface rust from many of my 74 Nova parts during the restoration. The pics are just some of the many parts I rejuvinated with this product and process.

74 Chevy Nova Update 9 - RePrime & Block #3 plus Final Prime
I reprimed and blocked the car for the 3rd time. Than Sprayed the car (the 4th time painting the car) with the Final prime. Not over yet!

74 Chevy Nova Update 98 - PreMask and Final Sanding
I do a premask on the Nova in prep for the final sanding process. I sand the front end to 320 than 500 grit and it looks like its going to be nice.

74 Chevy Nova Update 18- Painting Deck Lid and Moldings plus Fender Update
Here I paint the deck lid and the rear window moldings of the Nova. I also did the first block sanding of the fenders and another Epoxy primer coating in prep for blocking #2.

74 Chevy Nova Update 6 - Hi build Primer
Here I painted the Nova with Grey Hi build primer. This will have to be block sanded down and will help in making the body straight and fill in minor imperfections.

74 Chevy Nova Update 56 - Epoxy Front Filler Panel and Bumper
I sprayed the Epoxy primer on the filler panel and refinish the front bumper insides to protect from rust and to make it look nice.

74 Chevy Nova Update 10 - Bare metal Doors & Epoxy Primer
I took the Doors down to bare metal (including window channels and weatherstripping channels) than did the body work. Since I like the sport mirrors look, I bought some Camaro mirrors (There are no Reproduction Nova Sport mirrors available). These mirrors were listed for the Chevy Nova. Did the retrofitting and primed with 3 coats of Epoxy primer.

74 Chevy Nova Update 99 - Final Sanding and Masking Complete
So close to final paint!!! 37 Hours of sanding and over 10 hours of masking.

74 Chevy Nova update 14 - The Chosen Color HD
Here is the color I have chosen for the 74 Chevy Nova. From the factory my Nova was a solid red color. I wanted to continue the same color but bring it more modern with Mazda's Velocity Red Mica (color code 27A). Has great metallic shine and the red is a really Rich color.

74 Chevy Nova Update 138 - Brake Booster Detail
The Power Brake Booster gets an upgrade. The Wideband Oxygen Sensors told me to do it!
