1970 AMC Javelin SST abandoned 30 years, first look.
Here is a car my brother just bought. He has been looking to speculate on
old cars and look what he found....
This is a '70 AMC Javelin SST, possible Mark Donahue edition. The owners
widow allegedly has a stack of paperwork to this car so we are crossing our
fingers there is something to document a real Donahue car.
This is Tijuana Tan metallic, 360-4V, Safe Command power brakes and power
It is very original and unmolested. The story goes is the original owners
bought it, drove it until sometime in 1979 when the trans went out. The
husband started to pull the trans out, but passed away suddenly.
His widow left this car and 3 others where they sat for the next 31 years.
They literally had to spend a week cutting down the forest to get them out.
This Javelin wears vintage Cragar-type wheels, has the requisite add-on 8
track player also!
I will get more video and photos as we progress through clean-up and
mechanical evaluation of this AMC.
Please comment and subscribe, thanks!
PS the SST sold 2 months after this video and the Plymouth has long since
been restored and turned into a daily driver.
1974 AMC Javelin prime for the next car show and cruise.

1972 AMC Javelin SST Gateway Classic Cars Chicago #677
Up for sale in our Chicago showroom is a striking 1972 AMC Javelin SST.
American Motors Company was the first automaker to offer a “Buyer
Protection Plan” to back its products and promised to repair anything
wrong with the car (except tires) for 12,000 miles of one year. Underneath
the hood lies their 304 cubic inch small block V8, which is backed by a 3
speed manual transmission. This two owner car has under 40,000 actual
miles and recently had a total frame-off restoration! Options on this
stunning 1972 AMC Javelin SST for sale include: A/C, AM/FM radio, power
brakes and power steering, tilt wheel, seat belts, cloth interior, and
aluminum wheels wrapped in radial tires. Before the drop of horsepower in 1972 due to
the EPA regulations, the Javelins equipped with the 401 V8 were propelling
down the quarter mile in the mid-14 second range at about 93mph! Even the
Alabama State Police ordered approximately 100 of these as pursuit
vehicles, equipped with a special ‘fleet service’ version of AMC’s
new 401CID 4-barrel V8 and backed by a Borg-Warner automatic transmission.
An Alabama State Police Javelin was ever outrun during a pursuit and the
ASP Javelins are the first recorded pony car officially used by a major
police department…ever! To view this AMC in greater detail, including

Feels like a Porsche? Yes. 1969 AMX - /Big Muscle
When the American Motors Corporation (AMC) released the AMX back in 1969
the motoring world didn't know what to make of it. It had two seats like a
sports car, a solid live axle and a raucous V8 like a muscle car, and
styling that could've gone either way. Owner Jimi Day has been a long time
fan of the AMX so when he got the opportunity to construct his own he
pulled out all the stops, went buck-ass wild, and built what is arguably
one of the best AMX's on the planet Earth.
