In this review, we take a very in-depth look at the all new 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8. The vehicle was provided courtesy of yet another one of our good friends, Q Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Irving, TX (www.qchryslerjeepdodge.com) for us to review. This review is designed to provide accurate information to both car enthusiasts and potential consumers alike.
2012 Dodge Charger Test Drive & Car Review

The 2012 Charger has a much better looking front end including cool headlights and grille. The car looks sleeker and meaner compared to the previous model. The suspension has been completely reworked. In fact the 2012 Dodge Charger is essentially brand new from the ground up. When you opt for the more expensive Charger models, you get a nice big Hemi engine and cool appearance package that includes gigantic 20 inch chrome rims.
The 2012 Dodge Charger is a real muscle car that sports a V-8 engine and RWD. Now there are 3 different trim levels and the base model costs $29,496. This SE model comes with a 3.6 liter V-6 that makes 292 horsepower and 260 lb-ft. of torque while getting 18 MPG in the city and 27 MPG on the highway. What's great about the base V-6 model is that you can have the cool sporty muscle car look for a reasonable price and the engine is no slouch either!
But step up to the Hemi V-8 engine and things start to get interesting. The 2012 Dodge Charger R/T starts at just under $30k and comes packing a 370 horsepower 5.7 liter V-8 Hemi engine. The Charger R/T gets 16 MPG in the city and 25 MPG on the highway. The big daddy model is the SRT-8 which gets an even larger engine that displaces 6.4 liters and produces a whopping 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft. of torque! This car gets 14 MPG in the city and 23 MPG on the highway but who cares when you can out accelerate any other sedan on the road.
The new 2012 Dodge Charger not only looks the part of a 4-door muscle car, it has the power to back it up. The Charger is a great example of what a muscle car used to be and it sets the bar for what a 4-door muscle car should be.

2011 Dodge Charger Mopar
Building on the success of 2010 Dodge Challenger Mopar, Chrysler Group LLC's Mopar Division will launch a limited-edition Dodge Charger outfitted with select high-performance parts and appearance items straight from the Mopar parts catalog.
"The Mopar '11 Charger takes the 'head- turning' factor up a few notches," said Pietro Gorlier, President and CEO of Mopar, Chrysler Group's service, parts and customer-care brand. "By adding some of the most distinctive accessories to an already strong performer, we've created a special-edition car for enthusiasts."
Powered by the legendary 5.7-liter HEMI® with 370 horsepower and 395 lb.-ft. of torque, the specially equipped Charger includes the "Super Trac Pac" option that pushes the capabilities of the Dodge Charger Mopar in acceleration, handling and braking. Already powerful, the 5.7-liter has been tuned to extract the maximum amount of torque from the engine with the inclusion of a specially calibrated engine controller. The controller matches maximum engine power and transmission shifting to the differential for the 2011 Dodge Charger Mopar.
Backed with a proven five-speed W5A580 automatic, Mopar aficionados will appreciate the latest generation "Pistol Grip" shifter combined with Auto Stick. With Auto Stick, drivers may select a higher or lower gear while the transmission controller helps prevent the possibility of an over-rev condition. At the rear, the differential has been Boosted up with a new 3.91:1 final-drive ratio for enhanced acceleration - unique to the Dodge Charger Mopar. Initial testing of the Mopar '11 Charger has shown 0-to-60 mph blasts in the low five-second range.
