It is said that this is the world's fastest limousine. Der Continental Flying Spur (oder auch Flying Spur) ist eine repräsentative Limousine, die von der Volkswagen AG-Tochter Bentley angeboten wird. Der Name „Flying Spur" leitet sich vom Familienwappen des Kutschen- und Karosserie-Bauers Mulliner ab, der schon die ersten Rolls-Royce- und Bentley-Modelle karossierte und 1959 aufgekauft wurde. The Continental Flying Spur is equipped with a 5,998 cubic centimetres (366.0 cu in) (6.0 litre) twin-turbocharged W12 engine. It produces a DIN-rated motive power output of 560 metric horsepower (412 kW; 552 bhp) at 6,100 rpm, and torque of 650 newton metres (479 ft·lbf) at 1,600-6,100 rpm. Torsen-based permanent four-wheel drive is standard. It will complete the standard sprint of 0--100 kilometres per hour (0--62.1 mph) in 5.2 seconds, and can reach a top speed of 312 kilometres per hour (194 mph).[1] Some of the Bentley's technical and powertrain components are related to those on the Volkswagen Phaeton, Audi A8 and S8. The car was designed by the same team who produced the Continental GT and Continental GTC. The Continental Flying Spur is exclusively hand built at Bentley's only manufacturing plant in Crewe, England. Car Tour -- Rolls-Royce Ghost (2011)
In-depth tour of a 2011 Rolls-Royce Ghost, giving you an opportunity to see and learn about the majority of exterior and interior features that make this the more driver-oriented model of the Rolls-Royce family. This video was improvised (i.e. no script), so please excuse the occasional fumble for words. As someone who's logged 1000s of miles with RRs and BMWs you'll have to excuse my many references to both cars, but the Ghost does borrow a lot from the BMW 7-series. I may make a video of my Alpina B7 in the future just to underline the similarity of their interior features.
