This is a magnesium case engine which required the use of "case savers" to
make sure the head studs don't pull out of the brittle casting. Have a look

As you know, Porsche 912s have four-wheel disc brakes. 912s are lighter and
better balanced than the heavier Porsche 911. This car stops on a dime and
it has strong and exciting acceleration. Handling around corners is
thrilling. Enjoy this Porsche 912 walk around video.
This classic sports car stayed in California until the current owner
purchased it and drove it back to Minnesota in August of 1999. Since making
the drive from California (via Seattle) 13 years ago it has been driven an
additional 9500 miles. As a testament to how well the car runs and drives,
the current owner has driven the car on several 100 + mile tours in the
past few years. In 2011 the car made the 700-mile drive to Lake Michigan
and back. To keep the body nice and solid it has been stored every winter
since living in Minnesota.

Vintage! Porsche 911S | drive it!
The 911 is THE iconic sports car and the raspy note from its air-cooled
engine became its trademark. Two years after the 911 hit the showrooms,
Porsche came out with the even more powerful 911S. Under the hood was a 2
liter motor pumping out 160 PS. It was enough to take car and driver to a
top speed of over 220 km/h. The original design from 1963 was the work of
Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, who was just 28 years old at the time. The
car's timeless silhouette still catches the eye today and provides the
blueprint for all 911s that followed.
