Steve Sharp Transportation: Maximum Power and Uptime with Cummins X15 Performance Series
For Steve Sharp Transportation uptime and performance is paramount. Specializing in over dimensional and heavy haul transportation, their trucks need to be able to ensure on-time delivery despite hauling extreme weights. A 100% Cummins powered fleet, Steve Sharp Transportation tested the new X15 Performance Series engine at a 605 hp rating on a unit geared to pull over 600,000 lbs coupled with an ISX15 powered pusher. AEOS in Motion: Cummins Electric Powertrain Concept Truck (raw footage)
On Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2017, Cummins unveiled AEOS, a revolutionary new all-electric powertrain in a demonstrator truck. The footage of the truck seen here was supplied to Cummins by employees and guests who attended the AEOS unveiling at a press event held at the Cummins Technical Center in Columbus, Indiana. AEOS uses a 140 KWh battery pack instead of a 12-liter engine. The weight of the electric powertrain is roughly equal to that of the removed engine, aftertreatment, transmission and fuel tank. The tractor day cab when paired with a trailer has a gross vehicle weight rating limit of 75,000 pounds. The concept truck has a range of about 100 miles on a single charge for city driving that’s extendable to 300 miles with additional battery packs.
