Corvette C5 / C6 Rear Shock Removal
Did this on a 2009 Z06. Tools needed: 24mm socket (x2) 13mm socket 15mm socket Crescrent wrench or lisle 20400 shock absorber tool Note, I lied in the video. You can get an air ratchet on it, just funny angles. A universal might help. Note, the "Randy" I'm referencing is Randy Rippie @ Doug Rippie Motorsports. He put together a great group purchase deal on custom-valved Bilstein shocks. I didn't put much effort into the editing of this video, so it may seem choppy and unprofessional. Surprise surprise, it's youtube. ;) Just trying to motivate some people to get under their vettes and appreciate the mechanical side of these beautiful cars. Note, this was performed on an 09 Z06. Non-Z06s and other years may have slight differences.

Here are two qualifying laps at Miller on the Outer Loop from Sunday August 23, 2009. Aaron Pfadt is driving the Pfadt C6Z ST1 Corvette. The first lap is the warmup lap and the second is the hot lap. The second lap is a 1:59.1 The car is in full ST1 trim getting ready for NASA Nationals in two weeks.

Date: September 6th, 2010 Event: Summerfest Cornhusker Corvette Club at MAM Car: 2002 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Mods: 4.10 gears/Vararam intake/ LG LT headers/T1 sway bars/Pfadt shocks w/optional mount. Video of my fastest run of the day, 1:38.02x. If I wouldn't have gotten all crossed up coming out of our last corner, I would've gotten my 1:37! DANG! Times are somewhat slower than they would be if we were at full speed going through the starting lights. Great event, great friends, great fun. Thanks to the Cornhusker Corvette Club for putting on an excellent event, congratulations on the 50th Anniversary, and the Duntov award!
