This video will explain the 3 most common AC problem with the Volvo 850,
S70, V70, XC70, C70, etc. It also shows how to adjust or correct the AC
compressor clutch gap.
The clutch gap should be between 0.3mm - 0.5mm (0.012" to 0.020")
2000 Saab 9-5 engine removal through top
My brother and I haphazardly proceed with a DIY B235 engine swap (out the
top as opposed to our previous method of dropping the subframe). This is
not a DIY instructional, but 2 guys doing work on an unfamiliar brand, with
limited time and facilities. This footage was condensed from 90 minutes of
In retrospect, I would have done this outside. The garage is just under 8
feet so clearance was an issue for the hoist. Also, the transmission
leaked the entire time - watch for the encroaching pool of fluid! Learn
from our experience and read up on the procedure well: we had not removed
all the brackets and stud mounting from the transmission which would have
made things go much, much faster
and safer. Lots of effort was spent trying to get the leveler to return
from its extreme angle, but we had a cheapie from HFT. Definitely most
efficient as a 2-man operation.
Volvo 850, S70, V70 Front Wheel Bearing Hub Replacement - Auto Repair Series
Wheel bearing replacement: 2 to 4 hours. ($100 / $300 / $430
Over the past 5,000 miles or so I have heard my front right wheel bearing
making a little noise. It hasn't gotten much worse but it's best to replace
them before they come apart or tear something else up. I have a 1995 Volvo
Proper torque values are:
- Wheel bearing bolts, 33 ft/lbs, then another 60 degrees.
- Brake caliper mounting bolts, 74 ft/lbs.
- Control arm bolts, ball join nut 13 ft/lbs. (plus 120 degrees), subframe
bolts 48 ft/lbs. (plus 120 degrees),
- Wheel lug nuts, 80 ft/lbs.
- CV Axle bolt, 89 ft/lbs, then another 60 degrees (36mm or 32mm).
I used a OEM Volvo bearing (so I was told) which I purchased from eBay. I
have read that a company named FAG makes bearings for Volvo. They also make
the bearings for Timken. Anywho, I would like to think I have a bearing
that will last another 227,800+ miles, that's why I went with Volvo.
Unfortunately I have read that someone had an OEM bearing go out on them in
less than 15,000 miles. We'll see (I plan on driving this car for some

If you are purchasing a PCV kit and you are NOT 100% SURE what motor your
car has, you need to check the serial number on the motor and order the
CORRECT kit. If the serial number on the motor is 330414 and higher, you
need to the later kit, for newer cars because the oil trap box is larger.
