There's nothing like being one of a few to get behind the wheel of the all-new 2011 Porsche Carrera GTS, especially in Palm Springs, Cali! For this special moment Porsche brought in Joerg Bergmeister -- 5-time American LeMans Series' champion -- for the unveil and a test run in the Porsche Carrera GTS. Here, he stacks the 408-horsepower GTS against his own 911 Carrera S and Flying Lizard 911 GT3 RSR. Thoughts?
Porsche's 12 Hours of Sebring
The 2010 12 Hours of Sebring marks the 50th anniversary of Hans Herrmann's
victory at the legendary event in his 1960 Porsche RS 60. This year, the
pair of Flying Lizard Porsche GT3 RSRs are on hand to defend their 2009
championship title. Jörg Bergmeister and Patrick Long, both Porsche
factory drivers, discuss what it's like to race at Sebring and to be part
the Porsche driver legacy. It was a close battle in GT2 last year between
the Lizards and Corvette Racing, making this year all that more important.
Also on hand for this year's race is Hans Herrmann, the first Porsche
driver to win the Overall victory at Le Mans. Hans talks with Patrick and
Jörg while at Sebring about the changes in the racetrack over the past 50
years and how motorsports as a whole has changed.

2011 WRX STI Sets Speed Record
At Subaru, the phrase "The Fastest WRX STI Ever" refers to more than just
top speed or maximum engine output. It implies driving with confidence. The
WRX STI can be taken to its "fastest ever" performance by providing the
driver with total driving control with confidence. As a result, the 2011
WRX STI recorded 7'55''00 at the Nürburgring racetrack, Subaru's fastest
lap time ever, which is 4 seconds faster than the previous fastest time
recorded in 2004.

Porsche 911 Carrera GTS | SOUND AND ACCELERATION | TEST - Porsche is
sending its second generation of the 911 Carrera GTS to the starting line.
Four models – a coupe and a cabriolet, each with rear-wheel or all-wheel
drive – now close the gap between the 911 Carrera S and the street-legal
sports car optimised for the race track, the 911 GT3. Some of the technical
ingredients that generate even more driving dynamics and driving fun: 430
hp (316 kW) power, the Sport Chrono package and the PASM active damper
system which lowers the car's ride height by ten millimetres. Improved
efficiency has also led to quicker accelerations and higher top speeds, but
combined fuel consumption figures remain unchanged at the favourable level
of the S models. When combined with the Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe
(PDK), the 911 Carrera GTS sprints from zero to 100 km/h in 4.0 seconds
(Cabriolet: 4.2 seconds). The top speed of each GTS model is beyond the 300
km/h barrier; the fastest at 306 km/h is the Coupe with a manual
transmission and rear-wheel drive.
The exteriors of the new 911 cars differ significantly from the other
Carrera models. All models have the 911 Carrera 4 body with wide-flared
rear wheel arches and a wide track. Also standard are 20-inch wheels with
centre wheel locks, which are painted in an exclusive matt black.
Accentuating the front end are special trim elements and smoked bi-xenon
headlights. Black trim strips on the customised GTS air intake screen and
black chrome-plated Exhaust tailpipes
characterise the rear of the GTS.
With the addition of these new top models, the 911 Carrera range now
consists of twelve sports cars at three power levels, as coupes and
cabriolets, and with rear-wheel and all-wheel drive systems. The 911
Carrera GTS and 911 Carrera 4 GTS will be offered in Germany at prices
starting at 117,549 euros, including country-specific features and 19 per
cent VAT. In Germany, the four models will be available at dealers starting
in November 2014.

2015 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Coupe and Cabrio first look
Porsche has revealed the second generation of 911 Carrera GTS models. The
GTS models are available as coupe and cabriolet versions, with rear-wheel
drive or all-wheel drive. These new models bridge the gap between the 911
Carrera S and race track tested 911 GT3. Several technical features
heighten dynamic performance and driving pleasure, including the 430 horsepower engine
from the Carrera S Powerkit which incorporates the Sport Chrono package and
Sport Exhaust. The standard PASM
active damper system lowers the ride height by 10 mm compared to the 911
When equipped with PDK (Porsche Doppelkupplung dual-clutch transmission),
the 911 Carrera GTS sprints from zero to 60 miles per hour in 3.8 seconds
(Cabriolet: 4.0 seconds) – which is one-tenth of a second faster than the S model. Top track speeds
for the GTS models range from 187 to 190 miles per hour, depending on
drivetrain and transmission. Despite quicker acceleration and higher top
speeds, the GTS versions retain a similar level of efficiency as the 911
Carrera S models.
