A tribute to the Pontiac Trans Am
Just got bored, Pontiac for lifeeee (:

132328 / 2002 Pontiac Trans Am Firehawk
For more information on this vehicle visit http://tinyurl.com/857s5er If you review our sold inventory, you'll see quite a few late Firehawks on the list. Low-mileage examples that have been expertly maintained typically sell within days—they're incredibly popular, even nearly ten years after production ended. Sometimes, however, we get truly exceptional cars, and this supercharged Firehawk with just 7228 original miles certainly qualifies. Fast, black, and fully documented, this is the Firehawk to own if you're looking for the ultimate street brawler. With a pile of receipts for all the work, there's a good $15,000 invested in getting this car to run as well as it does. The stock LS1 is augmented by a ProCharger Supercharger installed by Hutter Performance in Chardon, Ohio. The blower lives down low in the engine bay, and feeds an air-to-air Intercooler up top that force feeds the engine cool, pressurized air. Dyno sheets that accompany the car peg the output at an impressive 454 rear-wheel horsepower. The rest of the engine bay is largely stock but beautifully maintained, with no signs of abuse or damage, and certainly no corrosion from being driven in foul weather. This car has been a toy from day one. In 2002, a vast majority of Firehawks were equipped with 6-speed manuals, but this one carries a 4-speed automatic, and is one of only 489 cars so equipped, and one of only 364 Trans Am Firehawks with an automatic, so it's a very rare piece. While some will scoff at the automatic, combined with the Supercharger, it makes for a very potent street car that's flat-out deadly in bracket racing at the track. This car also includes the optional Bilstein Ultra Performance Suspension Package, which really sharpens up the Firehawk's reflexes on the street. Wheels are optional Firehawk chrome alloys wearing Drag Radials. Now back to that Ebony Black bodywork—it's as nice as any 9-year-old car we've ever seen. The paint is in excellent condition, and I'd be surprised if this car has spent any significant time in the rain. In addition to the standard Trans Am and Firehawk graphics, including the Firehawk monogram on the doors, this one has a set of electric blue stripes from Phoenix Graphix, which really sets it apart. This Firehawk also carries the optional rear deck lid spoiler, which makes the car seem longer and lower than the standard Trans Am piece. The black leather interior is equally well preserved, although it does sport a few noteworthy upgrades. The first thing you'll notice are the A-pillar mounted Auto Meter gauges for Boost and fuel pressure; critical if you're going to run a Supercharger. The deeply sculpted black leather seats are in excellent condition and snow almost no wear, despite being almost a decade old. Jim Wangers, the legendary Pontiac advertising executive, has personally signed the passenger side sun visor on this car, and was obviously impressed by the build quality and overall condition of this car.

Guerrilla Style Productions: 2002 Pontiac Trans Am WS6

DEATH OF A TRANS AM WS6!!
After a year of beating on the stock block after all the mods, and approaching 98k miles, the LS1 block finally started having excessing blow-by in the cylinders and also blowing oil into the upper crankcase housing. It ran strong, producing idle launch 1/4 times of 12.4 @ 118MPH. But....IT'S TIME TO GO BIG!! Updates on the way... Car has LS1 motor, cam, Dart Pro 1 stage 3 heads, headers, Borla Exhaust, cutout, LS6 intake, lid, K&N, tune, ASP pulley, Hurst shifter, shift light, Nitto Drag Radials, DragLite wheels, Moser 4.10 gears and more. Motor work was done at East Texas Muscle Cars. Airbrushing by Allen Jonez - lid design is from the Disturbed Ten Thousand Fists album. 2001 SLP Pontiac Firebird Firehawk vs. Chevy Camaro SS Road Test

2010 Trans Am Firehawk Tribute
Between 1996 and 2002 the Firehawk Trans Am set a new mark for style and performance. These highly collectable Pontiacs quickly became a favorite among Trans Am enthusiasts. On the eve of production of the Kevin Morgan designed and licensed Trans Am, Morgan and Trans Am Depot were commissioned to build their version of the Firehawk using their new production design. The owner of this 2010 Trans Am Firehawk has the largest collection of Firehawks in existence and a muscle car collection of over 300 show cars. The challenge given to Morgan and Trans Am Depot was to design and build a one-off "Firehawk" that would respectively honor and pay tribute to both the Firehawk name and legacy.

Pontiac Trans-Am WS6--Midwest Auto Collection Test Drive Video Review with Chris Moran
http://www.SupercarNetwork.com A test drive in a professionally modified Trans-Am WS6 from Midwest Auto Collection. Hosted by Chris Moran. A musclecar, by definition, is a powerful and sporty vehicle that must be able to spin its tires at will. The Firebird Trans Am is capable of laying down twin black streaks of rubber several hundred feet long. We wanted to be sure it could, so we did it a half dozen times in the name of automotive science. For this test, we chose a 2000 Trans Am powered by a 5.7-liter (346 cubic inches, for you traditionalists) LS1 V-8 engine backed by a Borg-Warner six-speed manual transmission. It was fitted with the WS6 Ram Air performance package, consisting of functional front-end air dams leading to an underhood ram air system (a longtime Pontiac musclecar element), dual Exhaust outlets, power steering cooler, Hurst shifter, P275/40ZR17 Goodyear F1 GS tires, and, new for 2000, 17x9.0-inch twisted-design polished-aluminum wheels. The WS6 mods Boost horsepower and torque peaks to 320 and 345, respectively, up from the stock Trans Am's 305 and 320 figures. On the dragstrip, our Trans Am ripped 0-60 mph in 5.0 seconds and cleaned up the quarter mile in 13.5 seconds at 107.4 mph. (Funny how it beat the same-engined, similarly weighted Camaro SS by 0.2 second and 1.8 mph.) In handling, it mercilessly matches its Bow-Tie relative by pulling 0.84 g on the skidpad and zipping through the slalom at 64.6 mph. Mash the brake pedal to the floor, and the large 11.9-inch front and 12-inch rear vented disc brakes bring the Pontiac to a halt in 121 feet (11 better than the Camaro). For purists, these acceleration stats also beat virtually every Pontiac musclecar, including the legendary '69 GTO Judge with its 370-gross-horsepower 400-cubic-inch V-8. And in handling and braking, it wouldn't even be a contest. Around town, the Trans Am has a few quirks besides its rough ride. The Computer-Aided Gear Selection "skip shift" mechanism (required to help the Camaro and Firebird meet EPA fuel-mileage standards) is a major pain. It forces you to shift directly from first to fourth, if the engine isn't revved high enough in first gear. A second every-time-you-drive-it annoyance is the large rear blind spot that makes lane changes a crap shoot. However, the T-A is loads of fun to drive on twisty roads. It has just the right amount of throttle induced oversteer, assuming you've deactivated the optional traction control system. And, oh, that perfect '60s Exhaust note that's equal parts Woodward Avenue and Daytona 500. On the outside, it's fitted with a love-it-or hate-it nose that's more aggressive than a used-car salesman just one car shy of his monthly quota. Its major downfall are the old-school flip-up headlights. On the inside, this ponycar is styled for the teenager-at-heart, with a cockpit-like feel, red instrument lighting, and scant rear-seat room. But there's also an available ear-shattering 500-watt Monsoon 10-speaker sound system with steering-wheel-mounted controls, in case you've exceeded your tire budget for the month. However, we're put off by all the plastic. Pontiac could take an interior cue from the Audi TT. Remember the gorgeous bright-metal-trimmed instrument panels of '63-'66 Bonnevilles and Grand Prix? At $32,090, this car isn't cheap. However, at $3150, the WS6 option package is reasonable. It can be had as a hardtop, a T-top (like our test car), or as a convertible. But this car's best quality is its fun factor, which comes via tire-spinning torque just a stomp away on the throttle pedal. For 2002, celebrity/comedian/car nut Jay Leno will command the Firebird as he leads the 43 competitors on Sunday, February 17. The car Leno will be driving is a Firebird Trans Am Collector Edition featuring the standard Ram Air WS6 performance and handling package. The short translation: the car needs no performance modifications to handle high-speed track duty.
