JAKES MYERS First Burnout - the tradition continues

We've been waiting to see young Jake do his first burnout for a while and he got his chace at Dubbo during the NSW Pro Burnouts. Not only did he do well, he actually beat his old man Gary and first fourth behind three current Burnout Masters. Not a bad effort for his first outing.

UNLOAD Flames Up Again at NSW Pro Burnouts
When you see just how nice Steve Loaders UNLOAD is then it's hard to believe he actually does burnouts with it. But not only does he do burnouts, he also seems to set it alight pretty regularly. I think the score is three out of four so far.





EVILXA - Revamped and Smokin' Hot
EVILXA was looking a bit sad after hitting a barrier at Summernats and a few burnout fires (we show fire footage from Gazzanats), so Peter Grmusa has given the XA Ute a birthday and covered it in a mix of PPG Vibrance (Key Lime green & white by Auto Passion) and vinyl wrap (by Bling Designs). He invited us out to watch his debut burnout at a small gathering at an undisclosed location. As you can see he's got plenty of grunt thanks to the Powerhouse-built 530ci big block, but still manages to control it beautifully in the tight confines of the space provided.





Clint FIRES UP at NSW Pro Burnouts
It was great to see Clint Ogilvie back on the burnout track after such a long break. There's no blower on the Torana now, Clint has elected to go for naturally aspirated power with the 330 cube Holden pumping out nearly 600hp with big revs. Unfortunately he had to cut his burnout short at Dubbo with this not so small fire but it couldn't have been too serious because he drove it off the pad afterwards.





AGROVB Forgets to Tighten Something
Alan Shuttleworth was lucky to spot this fuel leak on his supercharged Commodore. If it had caught fire it would have been a disaster.





T4TUFF Wins NSW Pro Burnouts
How would you like to score $10,000 for a burnout? That's what Matt Power did at Dubbo for the NSW Pro Burnouts when he took on the best from NSW, VIC and QLD. The low and mean Holden tonner needed alot of work after it's fire last weekend at Kandos but Matt hooked in and got it sorted and without a doubt the blown 540 big block was the loudest engine on the day.





Performance Car Mania 2011
Performance Car Mania is quickly becoming the premiere modified car event in Victoria, and it's not hard to see why. The organisers set everything up to maximise the fun for the entrants. And if the entrants are happy then the spectators are as well, because they get to see some of the coolest cars around cutting loose. The new quarter mile strip was an interesting addition and although it was a tad bumpy in places it made for some interesting racing. We've squeezed as much action as we could into a reasonable time frame, but keep your eyes open for planty more vids from this event in the near future.





WRAPT - RB30 Turbo Powered Corolla
I was pretty amazed to learn this little Corolla was packing an RB30 turbo engine up front. Obviously it's stuck a fair way back into the firewall, but it gave a good account of itself in the Lqui Moly Summernats 26 Burnout comp.





R33 Skyline Punches A Rod Out at Gazzanats
There's no doubt that Skylines are decent performance cars but every car has it's limits - as the owner of this R33 found out at Gazzanats. I've never seen a nearly complete conrod leave an engine before, usually they're broken in two.





Gary Myers (GM176) - Winner National Burnout Masters 2011
They call him the Burnout King for a reason and Gary Myers showed why at Sumemrnats 24. With the tacho on 8000rpm all the way, the burnout was flawless from start to finish. This is the way to win $15,000.





Summernats 26 - Day Five
Okay guys, sorry for the delay but I needed a short break to unwind after Summernats and had to cach up on some much needed sleep. Here's the grand finale, with the finals for the Dyno and burnouts. EVILXA Finishes Second at Dubbo
NSW Pro Burnouts saw a reverse of the finishing order at Summernats with Peter Grmusa finishing second behind Matt Power. Big blocks seem to be taking all the wins these days.

We don't see too many turbo burnout and after seeing this I reckon we ought to see a whole bunch more.

GM176 - Fourth Place - Liqui Moly National Burnout Masters
Gary Myers proved why he's one of the best in the country by qualifying not one, but two cars in the Liqui Moly National Burnout Masters. Then he got them both into the top ten as well. It was a great burnout but in a field of great burnouts the judges awarded Gary fourth place with the Mustang





EVILXA - SUMMERNATS 26 LIQUI-MOLY NATIONAL BURNOUT MASTER 2013
Peter Grmusa reckons that Powerhouse Engines are the reason why he's had such a good year on the burnout pad. The engine has been ultra-reliable and trouble free which frees Peter up to concentrate on driving. And drive it he did. Peter smoked out a quality field of entrants to take the Liqui Moly National Burnout Masters Trophy for 2013 and take home the $15,000 cheque. With the rest of his wins this year he's up around the $40K mark in terms of winnings. Well done Peter.
