BMW e46 e36 airbag light / lamp - Solved (Easy DIY - SRS)
BMW e46 (323ci in this case) have à problem with the airbag, its a sensor under the drivers seat that causes the airbag light to switch on. That means your airbag probably is not working. Instead of beeing annoyed, I've found a solution that makes that lamp to switch of. You have probably searched a lot on the web about this problem but ended up with fake videos or products you need to buy. There is no need for that. Do it your self instead. I hope you like it and good luck. Some functions may not work such as parking sensor, lights. It depends on each and every model of your e46. Some of you think that this is not safe due to the airbag will not work when the fuse is out. A message to you guys is that, your airbag does not work anyway thats why the lamp is lid. Here you can see a diagram over the Fuse box: http://www.braytonstafford.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/E46FuseDiagram.jp g

HowTo: Install Airbag Bypass - BMW Occupancy seat sensor
**CLICK HERE: To see how to make the bypass. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2UqGJ_LK3Y I've had a lot of questions from people about where to install the bypass i made in my other video(found here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2UqGJ_LK3Y) so i've made this video to show you how i fitted it to an E46. Its pretty much the same for most other BMW's and its very easy. Simply tap the sensor you made, into the white and blue cables and tape them up. Don't reconnect the old Blue and white wire plug as that will cause the airbag light to come back on again. tuck everything away nicely and if needed, use a couple of cable ties to make sure the wiring doesn't get knocked by a rear seat passengers feet. I had to use my INPA diagnostics machine to reset the airbag light as it was a permanent one. If your airbag light is an intermittent one then you will usually get away without needing to have the code cleared with diagnostics. A little background on what this sensor is and what it does, The occupancy sensor is a mat thats built into the seat and it tells the computer if there is a person sitting there. If there are no passengers and the car is crashed then it wont deploy the passenger airbags, only the driver ones. This sensor is well known for going bad and this is why it triggers the airbag light. Unfortunately it costs upwards of 4-500 quid in parts and labour to have the seat mat replaced but with this mod, the bypassyou made (as per my previous video), or even bought of ebay etc will tell the computer that there is a passenger in the seat at all times and will always fire both passenger and driver airbags in the even of an accident instead of firing just the driver one. Making up this bypass is very easy and can be done very cheaply too. As always, I hope you find this useful and feel free to rate it, ask questions etc etc. :)
BMW DIAGNOSTIC CODES
A built-in BMW, self diagnostic code gives the benefit of troubleshooting a failure car component, the method to retrieve the faulty codes after Check Engine light turns on. This method helps car lovers to pin point the problem and replace the defecting component quickly and cost effectively. It works on models that have same instruments and LED's layout. Below here is the code table to interpret the meaning: http://pelicanparts.com/bmw/techarticles/Mult-Code_Reading/Mult-Code_Readin g.htm
