1967 Triumph Spitfire EV Conversion - Student Project
Mechanical Engineering Students from the University of Colorado Denver spent the Summer of 2009 converting a broken down 1967 Triumph Spitfire into a 100% Electric Vehicle. Our EV conversion can reach a top speed of 75 MPH and has a maximum range of 40 miles (of average city driving) all with an overnight charge (8-10 hours) on a standard 110 Volt outlet. We completed the entire conversion for under $10,000 including almost $2,000 of restoration work, all in about 8 weeks.
