1962 Nova Wagon SOLD !!!
Up for auction is a 1962 Nova station wagon (400 model) in excellent
restored condition. I initially began building this car in 1981, but
stopped working on it about a year later in 1982. This car was then stored
in a garage until December 18th, 2008....when i started working on it
again. It took me about a year to completely finish the car.
This Nova is essentially an "updated" 1967 wagon, with a 1962 body. The
front end is completely rebuilt, including 5 bolt drums. The rear end,
springs and driveshaft are all from the 1967 wagon. The '67 also donated
the steering column, power brakes, 2 speed wipers, power steering, 250
engine, and powerglide transmission. The radiator is a 1965 V8 radiator
with transmission cooling lines (was/am not sure if a v8 might still go in
this). The wagon has a split manifold with dual Exhaust (in the factory location) behind the
The paint is basecoat/clearcoat, with the bulk of the car shot in a deep
burgundy, accented with an updated bmw silver on the roof and tailgate
insert. These colors look absolutely amazing together coupled with the GM
(burgundy matched) wheels.
The interior consists of 1967 door panels, with brand new headliner,
carpets, seatbelts (front and rear), and seat upholstry. All chrome on the
car is original, and has been polished or buffed for a great shine,
although there are some pitting and imperfections.
This car would be a great show car / driver. I always have a crowd around
it during every "cruise night" that i attend. People are always eager to
discuss this wonderful automobile.
I decided to go with the 250 6cyl because of gas mileage and long distance
reliability. This engine is also out of a 1967, and has less than 50,000
original miles. Engine has a new alternator, water pump, rebuilt
carburetor, and new belts and hoses.
I would not hesitate to jump in this car and drive across the United
States, achieving honda mpg...... with much more style.
This Nova is also NOT a "bondo special". It is a very solid car with no
patches, putty, or dents anywhere except for a minimal amount near the rear
quarter/spare tire area that i redesigned for the dual Exhaust. The car also has only 79,900 miles on
