Let it be known I cheated. I started in 2nd and he started in 3rd. He was catching up fast. That is one FAST FAST evo. On a Dyno log he makes 458 at the wheels. Its amazing what a GT30/76R size FP red turbo, and 31 psi on E85 will do for a evo x. Both cars are VERY quick.
The following was a spirited acceleration from 5 mph to 45 mph on a 45 mph road. :-)
5.0 V8 Lotus Seven replica (locost) TEST DRIVE
This is the second test drive of the V8 Lotus Super Seven replica I've been
building from the ground up. 3 years ago I started with nothing but some
square steel tubing, wire welder, and angle grinder. Thanks to everyone
that has supported me and helped me out.

CRANKWALKED? 7-bolt teardown 1080HD
Now this is a story all about how
My bearings got flipped-turned upside down
And I'd like to take a minute just sit right there
And tell you how I used to mix and burn my gas and my air.
In RVA suburbs born and raised
On the dragstrip is where I spent most of my days
Chillin out, maxin, relaxing all cool,
'n all shooting some BS outside with my tools
When a couple of guys who were up to no good
Started running races in my neighborhood
I heard one little knock and my rods got scared
And said "You put it in the garage until you figure out where..."
I Begged and pleaded that it not be that way,
But it didn't want to start and run another day.
I kissed it goodbye, because the motor punched its ticket
I got out my camera, said "I might as well kick it."
Crankwalk yo this is bad
Drinking metal shavings from an oil pan.
Is this what the rumor of crankwalk is like?
Hmm this won't be alright
But wait I heard knocking, grinding and all that
Is this the type of failure that should happen to this cool cat?
I don't think so, I'll see when I get there
I hope they're prepared for this video I share.
Well I pulled all the bolts and when I came out
There were chunks in my fluids in the pan and they drained out
I aint all depressed cause I seen this before.
I got my books and my wrench and we'll do it once more.
I sprang into action like lightning disassembled
I whistled while I worked and my hands never trembled
If anything you could say that this bling is rare,
and when I saw what broke I stained my underwear.
I turned off the air compressor 'bout 7 or 8
And I yelled to crankcase "Yo holmes, smell ya later"
I looked at my internals they were finally there
To sit on my workbench and stink up the air.

Here's the 48,000 mile-old 7-bolt I blew up summer 2011 after over 150 drag
passes, a half dozen Dyno sessions, 4 transmissions,
3 clutches and 10 years of hard all-weather use.
Build a Locost 7: Step 1 - Fabricate the Frame
Building a Locost 7 frame, at 240x speed acceleration. This is the start
of my build and represents roughly 50 hours of work between 4/21 and
4/28/2007 to construct the basic frame. Run at roughly 1000x fast forward,
it will only take you seven minutes.
My entire build log, with lots of specs, pictures, and info is at
A short picture history of a Locost car built over two years. Not a kit
based from the book by Ron Champion.

Locost Autotest driver Christopher Evans not caterham or lotus 7
This is Hagley and District Light Car Club's annual international autotest
event at the Arrow Mill Hotel, Near Alcester in ENGLAND.
Autotests are a form of Motorsport in which a car is driven on a set route
around various obstacles against the clock (typically in a car park or
Industrial Yard). Time Penalties are given for touching an obstacle
(usually Pylons = Vertical Sticks) or not performing the manouvres
correctly. Drivers are required to travel forwards or in reverse between
manouvres, perform spin turns, stop in garages and on various lines,
including the finish line. The Competitor with the lowest total time for
the event is the winner.
This 7 has been wrongly called a Caterfield or Westham..but looking closely
it may be wearing cat plastic but I think its a locost.. What do you
think....he can sure handle a 7. Keep up the good work lad.
Is this the man?
Seems he moved up to a westy among his other comitments
