Muscle Cars, Pianos, and One Rare Cougar

You might not expect to find a collection of gleaming muscle cars in the back warehouse of a piano shop, but that's just what you'll find at AZ Piano, owned by Jason Sipe of Phoenix. He is currently restoring an ultra-rare 1969 Mercury Cougar 428 Cobra Jet, 4-speed, drag pak car with a power sunroof. Naturally, we had to meet up with Jason while we were in the area and check out his cars. Visit our website at http://www.cougarpartscatalog.com

Classic Cougar Prowl (2011)
There's nothing like a classic car show that features your favorite car almost exclusively. The Cascade Cougar Club put on a great show this year at the XXX Root Beer stand in Issaquah, WA. The Story Of Cougar 1: The First Mercury Cougar
A while back, we sat down with Jim Pinkerton, the owner of the very first production Mercury Cougar (1967 model year), a.k.a. Cougar 1. We hit the "record" button on our cameras and he let loose with an epic tale of how the car was first sold in Canada, its subsequent life there, and how it eventually got into his hands - an intriguing story! He also goes over some of the unique features of the car, and some of the restoration techniques used. It's a truly beautiful factory show car with more attention to detail than the 'average' Cougar. Special thanks to Jim Pinkerton for his time, and for providing most of the images you see in this video from his own collection of Cougar memorabilia. Rusty Roof Replacement - 1968 Cougar
If you have an old car that came with a vinyl top, chances are that you have some rust issues in the roof. This was the case with Andrew's car - a 1968 Mercury Cougar that his grandparents bought brand new in '68. In this video, Andrew takes matters into his own hands to replace his rusted roof skin with a solid donor roof from another car. He is by no means a restoration expert, just an amateur trying to save some money and save his car. Need a roof or other body panels for your classic Cougar? West Coast Classic Cougar has it all. Is It Numbers Matching? - Cougar by the Numbers
In this video we delve into the complex topic of decoding tags, date codes, and other numbers to check if your classic Ford / Mercury is "numbers matching," using Don's newly acquired '69 Mercury Cougar XR7 428 Cobra Jet convertible as an example. While we haven't covered the subject 100% in this video (to keep it concise) we think this covers most of the major components and gives you the knowledge you need to figure out what your numbers mean. As mentioned in the video, we highly recommend Marti Auto Works, especially his Tagbook, which made this video possible. Crushing Cars at West Coast Classic Cougar
CONTEST HAS ENDED We ran a contest to see who could guess how much the pile of 40 cars, the junk-filled truck, and the old forklift shown in this video total in either tonnage or dollar value (at $260/ton). The closest guess, without going over the actual amount, won a $100 gift certificate in our online store ( http://www.cougarpartscatalog.com ). -- Contest ended May 1, 2011 -- Also note that West Coast Classic Cougar no longer has parts for 1974-79 Cougars. 1968 Cougar 427 GT-E at Barrett-Jackson, Scottsdale 2011
This is the story of Brian Aust and his 1968 Mercury Cougar 427 GT-E. Over the course of about 5 years, he undertook a painstaking restoration to bring the car to the highest level he could, with a little help from his friends (and lots of advice from folks on http://www.mercurycougar.net ). On January 22, 2011, he drove it onto the auction block at Barrett-Jackson, stepped out, and watched it sell for... well, you'll just have to watch to find out!
