You might not expect to find a collection of gleaming muscle cars in the back warehouse of a piano shop, but that's just what you'll find at AZ Piano, owned by Jason Sipe of Phoenix. He is currently restoring an ultra-rare 1969 Mercury Cougar 428 Cobra Jet, 4-speed, drag pak car with a power sunroof. Naturally, we had to meet up with Jason while we were in the area and check out his cars.

A Day In The Life At WCCC
This is an informal video we shot to give you an idea of what it's like at
West Coast Classic Cougar on a daily basis. Meet the employees, walk around
the facility and get to know us. We're a random assortment of colorful
human beings who exist only to provide you with Cougar parts and knowledge.
Dash Removal & Restoration - '68 Cougar XR-7
In this video, we show (in great detail) how to remove and disassemble the
entire dash and gauge cluster in a 1968 Mercury Cougar XR-7. This also
applies very closely to the 1967 XR-7, and much of the info is relevant to
standard Cougars as well.
Once everything is removed from the car, we strip the plastic dash panels
down to their bare bones so they can be sent in to be "rechromed" - stand
by for updates on our restoration service, coming soon!
Then we show some of the simple, inexpensive things you can do to improve
the appearance of your dash, like replacing the blue light filters,
installing new gauge overlay decals, polishing the lenses, covering faded
woodgrain with our vinyl kit, etc.
Finally, you'll see it all back in the car, and what a transformation it

Also, if anyone out there knows of a vinyl woodgrain pattern that more
closely matches the original XR-7 dash pieces, we want to hear about it!
Our current pattern looks great but of course isn't "correct" for 67-68.
Portland Swap Meet - April Fools 2011
Since the famous Portland Swap meet fell around April 1st this year, we had
to take advantage of the opportunity. Don (owner of West Coast Classic
Cougar) disguised himself and got some undercover, candid feedback from
customers and friends from all over the swap meet. Not only was it a good
source of survey data, but the swap meet itself was a lot of fun, and we
found lots of Cougar parts!

Crushing Cars at West Coast Classic Cougar
CONTEST HAS ENDED
We ran a contest to see who could guess how much the pile of 40 cars, the
junk-filled truck, and the old forklift shown in this video total in either
tonnage or dollar value (at $260/ton). The closest guess, without going

Door Panel Backer Boards - How To Replace (1967-1970 Cougar)
Since door panels aren't reproduced for Cougars, good used originals are
valuable. Sometimes, the front vinyl side is usable, but the backer boards
are toast. Luckily, there's a solution. We now carry brand new,
better-than-stock backer boards made from a more durable pressboard
material. We have a version for 1967-1968 Cougars, as well as another
version for 1969-1970 Cougars. See links below.
In this video, we show you how to separate a vinyl door panel from its old
backer board, repair the metal hanger piece, and reattach it and the vinyl
to the new backer board. We also cover removal & replacement of the inner
beltline strip (the felt-lined trim that touches the door glass).

Rare Model A Ford US Mail Car.
Saw this cool looking US mail car from the 1930's today in a private
collection. It was used to deliver mail during the harsh Nabraska winters.
The owner said there was two of these built back in the day. It looks like
a Model A coupe body sitting on a 1 Ton model AA frame and running gear. It
would be fun to take for a spin.
1970 Mercury Cougar Eliminator at the Mecum Auto Auction
This is the Mecum Auto Auction in Kissimmee, FL on January 24-29, 2012.
This rare 1970 Mercury Cougar Eliminator is a well-equipped example powered
by the optional 428/335 HP Cobra Jet V-8 engine. The product of a
rotisserie restoration by Turn Key Restorations, it is finished in
Competition Green with Black graphics and Black Décor interior group, and
equipped with center console and factory air conditioning. The original CJ
engine is backed by a heavy-duty C6 Merc-O-Matic transmission and
Traction-Lok rear end, and complemented with power steering and brakes.
Featured in the May 2011 issue of Mustangs and Modified Fords magazine,
it is documented with a Marti Report and the original build sheet.
