You might not expect to find a collection of gleaming muscle cars in the back warehouse of a piano shop, but that's just what you'll find at AZ Piano, owned by Jason Sipe of Phoenix. He is currently restoring an ultra-rare 1969 Mercury Cougar 428 Cobra Jet, 4-speed, drag pak car with a power sunroof. Naturally, we had to meet up with Jason while we were in the area and check out his cars.

Door Panel Backer Boards - How To Replace (1967-1970 Cougar)
Since door panels aren't reproduced for Cougars, good used originals are
valuable. Sometimes, the front vinyl side is usable, but the backer boards
are toast. Luckily, there's a solution. We now carry brand new,
better-than-stock backer boards made from a more durable pressboard
material. We have a version for 1967-1968 Cougars, as well as another
version for 1969-1970 Cougars. See links below.
In this video, we show you how to separate a vinyl door panel from its old
backer board, repair the metal hanger piece, and reattach it and the vinyl
to the new backer board. We also cover removal & replacement of the inner
beltline strip (the felt-lined trim that touches the door glass).

2013 Gathering of the Classic Cougar Faithful at Bill Basore's House in AZ - "Live" Footage
Saturday, 1/19/13 - For those who couldn't be here, this is a quick,
sloppy, informal video to give you a taste of what it's like to party at
Bill Basore's house, and to put some faces to the names you may be familiar
with from the Classic Cougar Community Forums (
http://www.classiccougarcommunity.com ) and elsewhere in Cougar legend.
Just walking around with the camera talking to people and looking at cars
briefly. Nothing fancy!

Classic Cougar Pickin' with Scott Taylor (Part II)
We shot so much footage at Scott's place, we felt that there was too much
good stuff that didn't make it to the first video. As a result, here's
Part II! If you haven't seen Part I, watch that first here:
You can get in touch with Scott by email at: email@example.com OR you

WCCC Open House / Cruise / BBQ / Great Oregon Steam-Up 2011
Every year in August we have an open house at West Coast Classic Cougar.
We are based just outside of Salem, Oregon, and have a wrecking yard full
of 67-73 Cougars, and a warehouse full of new and used Cougar parts.
It's a two-day event that usually takes place on a Friday and Saturday. On
Friday, we have our open house and a small car show. Then in the evening,
we cruise over to Silverton for a barbecue at our friend Brian's place in
the middle of open farmland. Finally, on Saturday, we attend the Great
Oregon Steam-Up at Antique Powerland, located close by our shop in Brooks.
This year we had a reserved space for Cougars. There is an endless amount
of cool antique machinery to see at this show.
If this event sounds like fun to you, hop in your Cougar and we'll see you

1968 Cougar 427 GT-E at Barrett-Jackson, Scottsdale 2011
This is the story of Brian Aust and his 1968 Mercury Cougar 427 GT-E. Over
the course of about 5 years, he undertook a painstaking restoration to
bring the car to the highest level he could, with a little help from his
friends (and lots of advice from folks on http://www.mercurycougar.net ).
On January 22, 2011, he drove it onto the auction block at Barrett-Jackson,
stepped out, and watched it sell for... well, you'll just have to watch to

Mercury Cougar - American Muscle Car
An excellent TV show featuring the classic Mercury Cougar. They cover all
the classic years, and talk about all the different engines and option
packages you could get. Only a couple minor mistakes (they say the that
XR-7 package included a 4-speed stick, then show an automatic shifter in
one... derrr) but overall a very nice overview of these cars.
Door Hinge Rebuild - 1969 Cougar
In this video, we show how to rebuild your classic's door hinges with new
pins and bushings, with useful tips and tricks throughout the process. In
this case, we decided to do it with the door and fender still on the car.
Normally, it's a better idea to remove the door, leave the hinges on the
car, and rebuild them in place... but Don's car has power windows, so
removing the door is much more difficult with the wiring. Check out our
door hinge parts at http://cougparts.com
