Crusher Camaro Hits the Drag Strip! - HOT ROD Unlimited Episode 3
On this episode of HOT ROD Unlimited, we look at the history of HOT ROD magazine's longest-term project car, the Crusher Camaro. Watch as the '67 goes to the drag strip for the very first time in its latest configuration as a '70s street machine, complete with an 8-71 blower on a big-block Chevy.
For you tech heads, here are the specs on the car: It's a '67 Camaro that weighs 3,650 with the driver. The engine is 489 ci with a Weiand 8-71 that has been blueprinted by The Blower Shop in Simi Valley, California. The carbs are 750 Holleys, and the oval-port heads are also from Holley. The engine has a very small (226-at-0.050) hydraulic roller cam. At 5 psi Boost, it makes 520 hp at the wheels, and 500 lb-ft of torque. The transmission is a Gearstar 4L85E auto-overdrive, and the rear gears are 3.50:1 in a Ford 9-inch with a Wavetrac diff from Moser Engineering. We ran the Crusher on 30x9.50-15 Hoosier radial slicks for this trip to the track, though on the street it rides on Pro-Tracs from Coker Tire. This car is very streetable on 91-octane gas.

Rat Rod Jeep Death-Wish Trip! - Roadkill Episode 15
David Freiburger claims that this road trip on this episode of Roadkill is the most stupid thing that he and Mike Finnegan have ever done. Freiburger wanted to do a Jeep trip, so Finnegan bought an old Willys flatfender--one that had been turned into a two-wheel-drive rat rod using some very sketchy fabrication. The guys made it semi-safe, then hit the road to drive to the Desert Bar in Parker, Arizona, where they sold the Jeep to a guy for the price of their bar tab. Watch to see the crazy fun in the scariest vehicle ever on Roadkill.

Surviving HOT ROD Drag Week! - Roadkill Episode 9

Mitch Allread: Don't Call it a Rat Rod... - BIG MUSCLE
It packs a 400 hp diesel out of a Ford F-350, a Dana 80 rear-end, and a look and feel that would make Max Rockatansky feel right at home. This is Mitch Allread's custom fabricated creation and it is, without a doubt, one of the coolest things on the road today. This is a machine that transcends the traditional hot rod formula by breaking down borders and setting its own stage.
Whereas most hot-rods are built by custom shops utilizing parts from mail order catalogs, Mitch took a different approach and fabricated just about everything on his ride by hand. Calling this a rat-rod would be an insult - a work of art however... that'd be just fine.

1960 Peterbilt Hotrod Truck called Piss'd Off Pete
While I was at SEMA 2009 a captured a video of Piss'd Off Pete's engine being revved up in front of a huge SEMA crowd just down from the Autogeek.net booth.
This is Jay Leno's 1960 chopped Peterbilt with a 852ci two-stroke Detroit Diesel twin-supercharged V12 mated to an Allison 4-speed automatic transmission from a Greyhound bus. The engine produces 500 horsepower and nearly 1000 lb-ft torque with a red line of just 2,800 rpm. Built by the Blastolene Brothers.
