This year we've assembled the aristocrats of the class — Aprilia Tuono V4 R APRC, MV Agusta Brutale R 1090 and Triumph Speed Triple R — to determine the hierarchy of the naked elite. 2014 Super Street Fighter Track Shootout
For this test, we're taking some of the baddest liter-class naked streetfighters — the BMW S1000R, Ducati Monster 1200S, Kawasaki Z1000, KTM Super Duke R, and MV Agusta Brutale 1090RR — out to Chuckwalla Valley Raceway for a thorough thrashing. While all these bikes were designed primarily as street bikes, we were pleasantly surprised how well each handled track duties. Which one would we pick to ride to the track, do a trackday, and ride home? Watch the video to find out. 2014 Super Naked Street Brawl
In the track version of our Super Streetfighter Smackdown, the KTM 1290 Super Duke R won over the BMW S1000R by the narrowest of margins. Which is all well and good for the small percentage of riders who'll actually take these bikes to the track. For the greater population, riding these motorcycles on the mean streets of America, the streetable personas of these two and the Ducati Monster 1200S and Kawasaki Z1000 ABS are far more important. Skidbike Tested – KTM 1190 Adventure and Honda CRF250L
Skidbike may resemble a motorcycle with miniature sidehacks attached to both sides riding atop a couple of skateboards, but once past this first impression you discover the purpose of each component and how they interact as a system. The result is a device that removes trepidation for newbie riders developing their skills, while allowing experienced riders to comfortably explore outside the confines of safe controllability. 2013 MV Agusta Brutale 675 vs. Triumph Street Triple R - 675cc Streetfighter Shootout
MV Agusta's Brutale 675 was introduced in 2012, while Triumph's Street Triple R received a makeover prior to entering the 2013 model year. The commonality among them is their 675cc inline-Triple engines, superbike handlebars and lack of sportbike bodywork. From here the two bikes diverge in performance mannerisms, technologies, price and visual appeal. Which manufacturer concocted a better middleweight two-wheel ruffian is what we'll now determine.
