2012 Literbike Streetfighter Shootout

Aprilia Tuono V4 R APRC vs MV Agusta Brutale R 1090 vs Triumph Speed Triple R http://www.motorcycle.com/shoot-outs/2012-literbike-streetfighter-shootout-video-91254.html Last year's edition of our annual literbike streetfigher shootout pitted three competent, albeit plebeian, naked bikes to battle for supremacy — Honda CB1000R, Kawasaki Z1000 and Triumph Speed Triple. This year we've assembled the aristocrats of the class — Aprilia Tuono V4 R APRC, MV Agusta Brutale R 1090 and Triumph Speed Triple R — to determine the hierarchy of the naked elite. 2014 Super Street Fighter Track Shootout
For this test, we're taking some of the baddest liter-class naked streetfighters — the BMW S1000R, Ducati Monster 1200S, Kawasaki Z1000, KTM Super Duke R, and MV Agusta Brutale 1090RR — out to Chuckwalla Valley Raceway for a thorough thrashing. While all these bikes were designed primarily as street bikes, we were pleasantly surprised how well each handled track duties. Which one would we pick to ride to the track, do a trackday, and ride home? Watch the video to find out. 2014 Ultimate Streetfighter Finale
No shootout has been as difficult as this one pitting the Aprilia Tuono V4R APRC ABS against the BMW S1000R and KTM 1290 Super Duke R. Not just in how tight the outcome of the scoring (which was stupid close), but more so in the intangible elements of emotion, sensation and the if you have to ask, you wouldn't understand bliss of why we ride motorcycles. 2014 Super Naked Street Brawl
In the track version of our Super Streetfighter Smackdown, the KTM 1290 Super Duke R won over the BMW S1000R by the narrowest of margins. Which is all well and good for the small percentage of riders who'll actually take these bikes to the track. For the greater population, riding these motorcycles on the mean streets of America, the streetable personas of these two and the Ducati Monster 1200S and Kawasaki Z1000 ABS are far more important. 2012 Japanese Superbike Shootout - Road Test
2012 Honda CBR1000RR vs 2012 Suzuki GSX-R1000 vs 2012 Yamaha YZF-R1 vs 2012 Kawasaki ZX-10R http://www.motorcycle.com/shoot-outs/2012-japanese-superbike-shootout-91266 .html It has been a couple years since we last did a Japanese literbike shootout, because, frankly, the field has been quite stagnant for a while (save for Kawasaki's total revamp of the ZX-10R last year). It took them another year, but Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha have all tweaked their respective contenders for 2012 - the CBR1000RR, GSX-R1000 and YZF-R1, have significant changes, while Kawasaki returns for 2012 with the same traction-control-equipped machine it introduced last year, confident of its chances.
