Sunday Race - Laguna Seca - IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge - 09/18/2011
Started on Gold class Pole. Madison Snow got by me early on the first lap,
I got back by him into T11 on the first lap. Held the lead for a good chunk
of the race while being held up by slower platinum cars. Around the 52
minute mark things get dicey on the final restart of the race when Eduardo
Cisneros and I get a little argy-bargy for one lap. On the first contact
exiting T11 during the restart it knocked out my driver side rear
suspension which made all the right hand turns super dicey. The stewards
then tell me to give up the position as I passed when they called for a
full course caution but the flags weren't out yet..... race finished under
yellow. Finished the race in P3 for Gold class.
Nissan GT-R vs Porsche GT3 Cup - 2012 Nurburgring 24h
A 2 laps fight to keep up with the Team Nissan GT-R very fast car. 20
hours into the race with the cars and their drivers at the limit of
resistance. Japan vs Germany! technology vs experience, innovation vs
tradition. 2 grate teams and 2 grate cars. Enjoy the watching the video
as much as I did enjoy driving against such a strong opponent!
We ended up 21st overall.
BMW M3 GTS and Porsche GT3 RS Nurburgring 7min55 BTG
Fun lap during a trackday with my M3 GTS and a orange Porsche GT3RS.
The car is a bit wobbly at this videoclip, meanwhile we improved the
setting of the car (except brake pads still OEM). At this point it was
still out of shape. It would also be nice if there would fit more tyres
(Trofeo, Cup of slicks perhaps), but unfortunately only Pirelli and Dunlop
make tyres for this car....

Testing a Porsche Race Car at Sebring, FL
This is a 10 minute chronicle of my brother's first time driving his new
Porsche race car at the legendary Sebring road course in FL.
The car currently is configured with an air cooled 3.4 liter normally
aspirated Porsche 911 engine with individual throttle bodies for each
cylinder. Hope to change to a water cooled 996 twin turbo engine sometime in the near future . . .
but for now the relatively low horsepower air cooled engine
is allowing to attempt to learn how to drive the 911 platform.
The 2012 Porsche Boxster S - /CHRIS HARRIS ON CARS
Porsche's new 981 Boxster is an all-new design. Bigger, but lighter than
before. We went to the launch event in the South of France to see how good
it was. And whether a man can now buy the girl's Porsche.

The Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 is the final evolution of the 997 and features a
4.0 litre engine. The engine itself uses the crankshaft from the RSR with
increased stroke dimensions (from 76.4mm to 80.4mm). This change has
increased the power to 368 kW (500 PS; 493 hp) at 8250 rpm and 460 N·m
(339 lbf·ft) of torque at 5750 rpm. Chassis development has been
influenced by the GT2 RS and uses bits from other RS 911s. Front dive
planes give additional downforce up front. The car weighs in at 1,370
kilograms (3,000 lb), giving it a power-to-weight ratio of 365 bhp per ton.
Only 600 cars will be built.
Performance is a 3.9 second 0-100 kilometres per hour (62 mph) time and a
top speed of 193 miles per hour (311 km/h). The Porsche 911 GT3 is a higher
performance version of the Porsche 911 sports car. It is the latest in a
line of high-performance models, beginning with the 1973 911 RS. The GT3,
named after the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) GT class
it was designed to compete in, has a 3.6-litre naturally aspirated
six-cylinder engine, based on the unit used in the Porsche 962 and Porsche
911 GT1 race cars.
A number of variations, designed for road and track duty, have been
introduced since its launch in 1999. The current range (997) includes three
road and several racing models which are listed below.
The Porsche 911 GT3 has had a successful racing career in the one-make
national Porsche Carrera Cup series, and the international Porsche
Supercup. It has won championship and endurance races, including the GT
class of the American Le Mans Series seven times, first overall in the 24
Hours of Daytona, and first overall at the 24 Hours Nürburgring six times.
The new Porsche 911 997 GT3 R Hybrid made its debut at the 2010 Geneva
Motor Show. The hybrid technology featured in the car was developed by the
Williams F1 Team and is based on their F1 kinetic energy recovery system
(KERS) which they did not race in 2009. Unlike other KERS that were
developed for F1, the Williams system is based on using kinetic energy
stored in a flywheel rather than batteries. The GT3-R has two electric
motors, each developing 102 brake horsepower (76 kW), driving
the front wheels to supplements the 480 brake horsepower (360 kW)
four-litre flat-six engine at the rear. It is planned to
enter the car in the 2010 24 Hours Nürburgring. As part of the
build up to the 24 hour race the GT3 Hybrid made its racing debut at the
VLN 4 hour endurance 57th ADAC Westfalenfahrt at Nürburgring on March 27,
2010. On May 28, 2011, it won its first VLN race. At the 2011 24
Hours of Nurburgring, weight/restrictor penalties as well as technical
difficulties prevented the R Hybrid from climbing higher than 28th place.
The car also ran as an unclassified car at the 2011 American Le Mans Series
at Monterey event; despite starting from last place, it finished ahead of
all the other GT cars and also performed the fastest GT lap of the race.
