512 Road Race '67 Mustang @ Sears Point with the Shelby Club 08.30.09
My 67 Fastback Mustang during the Norcal Shelby Club Sears Point event. Changes for this event were coil over front shocks up front (mount on the top arm for now, near the UBJ, with 550lb springs), DPI Platinum Trac differential (replacing the spool), and I also removed the stock rubber bushing strut rod arms and replaced it with a strut rod that uses a rod end at the frame mount. The car actually turns much easier now!
This was also the first event driven at Sears Point with my three link rear suspension. I am very pleased with each of the changes. Best time captured on video for this weekend was a high 1:47, which I am very pleased with considering the fact that this event is an Open Track event rather than a race.

Open Track day with the Nor-Cal Shelby Club at Thunderhill in WIllows
California in my 67 Fastback Mustang.
This is my first track day at Thunderhill with Michelin racing slicks. In
the past I've always used the Hoosier DOT slicks. I've noticed the Michelin
tires are almost "all or nothing" where the Hoosier tire is much more
forgiving of traffic situations where I need to back off for a turn or two
to pass someone safely. I might try a softer compound tire next time, and
/ or make some changes in the alignment of the car.
This video was filmed with a GoPro Hero HD camera.

My 1967 Fastback Mustang
during the Nor-Cal Shelby Club Vintage Race. So much fun!!!
Recorded with two GoPro Hero cameras (Hero2 in the car and older Hero
outside). The outside camera was stuck to the bodywork with the 3M sticky
pads that come standard with the GoPro cameras! Unfortunately the
outside camera ran out of disc space, so the last bit of the race reverts
back to the in car camera.
There are a few more still pictures of the car at the end of the video.

2015 Ford Mustang EcoBoost: SVO Reborn? - Ignition Ep. 117
On this episode of Ignition, presented by Universal Technical Institute,
Carlos Lago drives the first turbo,
four-cylinder Mustang in
three decades: the EcoBoost.
Featuring 310 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque, this Mustang should easily outpace the V-6
and, with half the cylinders, it also boasts less weight over the front end
than the GT. Add in a performance package and – finally – independent
rear suspension, and this Mustang should prove a lot of fun.
Through Motor Trend’s instrumented testing, a visit to Universal
Technical Institute’s Dyno, a drive on the road, and a
Hot Lap, we’ll find out if the EcoBoost has what it takes. Stay tuned for more
on the GT.
Ignition appears every other Monday on the Motor Trend youtube channel.
