512 Road Race '67 Mustang @ Sears Point with the Shelby Club 08.30.09

My 67 Fastback Mustang during the Norcal Shelby Club Sears Point event. Changes for this event were coil over front shocks up front (mount on the top arm for now, near the UBJ, with 550lb springs), DPI Platinum Trac differential (replacing the spool), and I also removed the stock rubber bushing strut rod arms and replaced it with a strut rod that uses a rod end at the frame mount. The car actually turns much easier now! This was also the first event driven at Sears Point with my three link rear suspension. I am very pleased with each of the changes. Best time captured on video for this weekend was a high 1:47, which I am very pleased with considering the fact that this event is an Open Track event rather than a race. More information on the car can be found at http://www.noapplemusic.com/512

#512 '67 Road Race Mustang | SAAC Mini-Nats 28 Vintage Race | Sears Point
My 1967 Fastback Mustang during the Nor-Cal Shelby Club Vintage Race. So much fun!!! Recorded with two GoPro Hero cameras (Hero2 in the car and older Hero outside). The outside camera was stuck to the bodywork with the 3M sticky pads that come standard with the GoPro cameras! Unfortunately the outside camera ran out of disc space, so the last bit of the race reverts back to the in car camera. There are a few more still pictures of the car at the end of the video.

512 Road Race Mustang @ Laguna Seca - Corkscrew Invitational 2010
My 1967 Mustang Fastback dedicated Road Race car @ Mazda Raceway, Laguna Seca for the Corkscrew Invitational Race - September 18/19 2010. The car has gone through many changes since the last posted videos. The front suspension has been completely redesigned to allow wider front tires and improved suspension geometry. The engine is essentially the same, though now uses a belt drive for the camshaft rather than a timing chain. This event was great fun. It had been ~12 years since this car was driven at Laguna Seca due to the strict sound restrictions at the track. This event was held on one of the allowed open sound weekends and was a great success. Thanks to Hooked On Driving, the Nor-Cal Shelby Club, and the other clubs that made this event happen. This particular footage is from the session before the race on Sunday. Unfortunately the camera stopped after a lap or two of the race, so I don't have complete footage. We did finish in first place, with a very fast Panoz in a close second. It was a great race, I passed the Panoz cleanly in turn 9, and worked hard to stay in front for the last three or so laps. This is the same video file as my last upload, this time using a much better encoder.
