Paeroa 2012 F3 Race 1 SV650 Jason McCamish onboard

This is race one from Paeroa in F3 2012. I'm riding a fuel injected Suzuki SV650. Modifications are a full Yoshimura Exhaust system. An Ohlins rear shock and spring. Revalved and resprung front forks. Aside from that it's standard in accordance with Production Twin rules for the National events. The majority of the other bikes in my race are Formula 3 spec which means very few limits on modifications. Spoiler alert: I came fifth in this race out of about 25 bikes scoring me a whopping $175 prize money which is pretty good for motorbike racing in NZ. Craig from Cycletreads crashed his Kawasaki zxr400 in this race. Thanks to all who've helped me over the years. Paeroa BOTS F3 race 2 2009
Race 2, did a big writeup for my race one vid so if you're interested just read that. This was more fun though, pity just as I got some clear track the camera started turning to the right, still gets a great side shot of the crowds and gives perspective to the speed and also get to see the throttle and brake hand dance. Thanks again Victoria Motorcycle Wreckers - Keith and Ken and the lads Carbines Engineering - Peter Pakuranga Dental - Leong Cycletreads - www.cycletreads.co.nz The Family Paully 3 fingers The organisers The spectators The racers Camera is a dirt cheap Orite VC3260 still camera that I found after it had been discarded by my sister, add one $15 Transcend 4GB SD card and a custom steering head mount made by Paully and i seem to have scored a descent onboard camera that i can afford to smash up. Doesn't get the warble issues that purpose made onboard cameras get too. Vision is a bit grey because I've got a very dark windscreen that I can't actually see through, camera does remarkably well. Total cost to me $20 including some AA's. Music by the very Awesome SNEAKY SOUND SYSTEM

Paeroa BOTS F3 race 1 2009
Well, this was the first time I'd ridden my new (to me) 1992 VFR400R. Everything bog standard, used Dunlop GPRA10 front tyre, and used Bridgestone BT090 rear, yay, no tyrewarmers required. Grid positions were as far as i could tell pretty random, there was no qualifying. And somehow I'd got put last on the grid out of about 35 bikes. Still was good for making it a fun non-serious day which was good cause I'd just got my right wrist out of a cast on Friday, and I've got a couple of evulsion fractures, and as it turns out the bike wasn't up to much anyway. The lack of thrust out of corners was partly due to the lack of power but mostly the extremely tall gearing, with it getting over 110kph in first gear, others on the same model were running a one inch smaller rear wheel, with 2 less teeth on the front sprocket. This circuit had a couple of sweeping corners, but mostly straight with a few tight corners, so the only place I could make up ground was on the brakes which I did as best as I could, but due to being trapped in the pack I was often unable to maintain any corner speed in the tight corners to keep the bike in the power range I was often having to slip the clutch in first gear out of a couple of the corners just to keep the bike moving (clutch was losing traction too when I forgot to do clutchless upshifts). Still had a lot of fun, and just wish I could have got more laps. Next year I might get a bit more serious with my ride. Really thought I would be more competitive on a standard VFR than I was, wrong circuit for it I suppose, needed more corners and a wider track for overtaking on the corners. Was six seconds per lap slower than the front guys!!! Had more fun in race two, as this one I was still learning my way around. OMRRA Suzuki SV-650 Eric Koegler-good motorcycle race
Excellent race onboard with Eric Koegler at Portland International Raceway. Close passing and good drafting action. 2 wave start, Eric in 2nd wave (two different classes). Recorded on board a few years back before the track was revised at turns 3 and 4.

2006 Suzuki SV650 SV650S GP Style Custom Exhaust
Prototype 1: Introducing the first SV650S on youtube with a GP style pipe and removable baffle. Loud but with a lower pitch than an open straight pipe or without mufflers. The baffle puts back the back pressure that you would normally lose on an open straight pipe or without mufflers. But it doesn't take away from the loudness. It also enhances that low pitch rumble. Giving it a cruiser like sound. Next prototype should look better and sound deeper. Since I am not a mass producer, I can probably make you one for $200, but you have to wait up to 2 weeks to get it. Sorry, I have an 40 hr a week job. It's a polished stainless steel pipe.
