Not Dead Yet : S30 Datsun 240z SCCA (1972-Spec) CVAR
After a couple quarter tilt laps, the previous motor dropped a valve
and devastated the engine on the maiden run for this car, in late
September 2013 at Texas World Speedway, during the practice &
Unsure of how to proceed, it was decided that to get it going instead
of missing out on the next event in early October, as an opportunity
arose to acquire a spare IT (almost stock) L24 to place in the car.
It was paired to a 4 speed and installed in a blitzkreig 5 days before
it needed to be at the track.
This video was taken the Saturday and Sunday of October 5-6, 2013.
Filmed as it was happening, as I was helping (to a lesser degree) with
the build, so I didn't have director status to stage shots.

Many months ago, Nissan asked their fans to help them create the ultimate
370Z track car. They called it Project 370Z. To put it to the test, Nissan
fans were asked to vote for a challenger to compete against it. They chose
a 1970 Datsun 240Z with an RB26 engine transplant built by Gordon MacSwain.

Lance Lambert from The Vintage Vehicle Show visits the Datsun Heritage
Museum in Murrieta, California. Here he looks at a 1972 Fairlady 240Z (same
as Datsun 240Z outside the U.S.) with the museum's director, Fred Jordan,
who was also the manager of the first Datsun dealership in the United
The late Fred Jordan, who started up this Datsun Museum, gave erroneous
information as has been stated here a multitude of times. The museum has
